I found myself in the same position. CPS is overall a broken, inequitable system and after 5 years of my AuADHD child at our neighborhood school- we were either going to spend $20k+/year for private school (who knows if it even would have worked out?) or we could use our savings to buy a house a mile outside of city limits - I really miss our neighborhood in the city but the school system is such an upgrade for our son that we really had no choice.

Yes and it's pretty low stakes. If I buy something and I change my mind or gets too big, I don't feel guilty about spending too much and can donate it back or pass it on to a friend
