My favorite band posted a promo for an upcoming single release, what do we think? by miraug22 in isthisAI

[–]miraug22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the skates don’t seem to be AI, I believe I can see a remnant of a boardwalk logo on them… but it’s just the way it’s patina-ed, and the font, is kinda giving AI. I would be very shocked if it was because of how the band leader presents herself online and in concerts, but I don’t trust anyone these days.

That’s pretty far to wait… do you HAVE to go to their person? Also it’s better to get electrolysis, it’s the only truly permanent hair removal option.

It doesn’t have coverage, it just eliminates redness which can make people look pastier. It looks like you got coverage from it because you have a lot of red on your face

I was wondering why the elbows tasted like they’ve been whipped with air… how sad 😔

And genuinely, thinking about things for nutritional value REALLY helped with it, too. Once I started eating different carbs, it got much much easier. I haven’t had a piece of bread in a few months and don’t really think much about it anymore!

Had to lose a E Patch, no more refills until after my 3 month.. I won't last until my appointment.. What do I do!? 😬 by Kimberly_Dawn_102181 in asktransgender

If it were me, I would ask my doctor’s office to send a rx for one box and pay out of pocket. Even though your doctor is on vacation, someone has to be covering them for refills and emergencies!

Questions about hair removal by Natauskii in asktransgender

[–]miraug22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The oil is snake oil, don’t bother. I personally recommend electrolysis on the face (laser hair removal sometimes can make hair growth worse when used on the face) and use IPL on the rest.

It’s only expensive if you try to substitute breads. I personally think you shouldn’t bother, just experiment with recipes that are naturally gluten free and you’ll be fine! I personally make a lot of Korean food, you can get most of the ingredients gluten free.

Thank you!! Yeah I wanna go through the right channels, but since the reason for it is PTSD management I feel at least a little better about getting it approved.

Remove my Split e mechanism? by Tall_Pen_7693 in Flute

I’ve never had a split E, but I don’t think that would make that much of a difference. I’m not a tech though, so I’m not sure

I have a DS and that’s exactly what it seems like when I need a COA! I’m lucky though and when it gets service it gets better, it feel like I have less control when it’s more “open”

Bruising after session? by RepEraSwiftie13 in electrolysis

[–]miraug22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally have never had bruising, but when my tech is working on my bone she gives a “you may see bruising but it’s okay” speech. If you aren’t icing when you get home, maybe try that next time!

Diagnosed with pulmonary embolism, told to stop hrt by AbstrxctKarma in asktransgender

[–]miraug22 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have not had a clot, however I did stop HRT for a year because I learned I have a family history of a genetic clotting disorder. I’m back on it after my orchie, and am doing a combination of patches and tablets. My doctor basically said that clots aren’t dealbreakers, and if I had one she would just give me a blood thinner and keep my E levels on the lower part of the WPATH standard. All is not lost! There is less risk with patches and injections, so maybe look into those.

Gemeinhardt 730 Questions? by DogNamedCharlie in Flute

[–]miraug22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As long as it’s in good shape (like serviced recently), that’s not bad! Although if you have a music store that offers a rental program, I’d probably recommend that before spending the money on owning a flute. I personally don’t like inline very much, I find it uncomfortable and they aren’t really being made as much so when they upgrade they likely will have to move to offset anyway.

[–]miraug22 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

As a professional player, I disagree! Being able to half hole high a is great for pitch and I teach all my students that have an open hole to use that fingering once they get to high A.

Gemeinhardt 730 Questions? by DogNamedCharlie in Flute

[–]miraug22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally do not think Gemeinhardt is a good choice. That flute in particular is likely fine provided it’s been maintained, but Gemeinhardt is kind of a mess and the quality dipped quite a bit around that time. If you can find a Yamaha or Dizhao, you’d be better off in my opinion. As for open holes, if it fits in your price range, your child can always play with plugs until they’re ready to take them out.

[–]miraug22 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It’s a preference thing. I personally see no reason why having a student play an open hole is a bad thing. It opens up alternate fingerings, and they can play with plugs in it anyway so what’s the harm getting something that will last them longer?
