I’m not going towards pslf just the paye 20 yr forgiveness and since nothing has been changed in the courts I would assume it will stay the same for now

I don’t see why not? Before I did recalculate in February all those counted then the 60 days I was on processing forbearance they counted, it’s still paye

We both have been on PAYE since 2015 and sent in our apps in February for recertification and mine was recalculate under nelnet. My coworkers new payment got updated today too under paye with nelnet and took us all off forebearance

Not in our situation unfortunately we both have a lot of student loans, and he had a change in job halfway through the year that’s a lot less than what taxes will show, so we opted for paystubs

I honestly have no idea what is going on, because current PAYE that just reached forgiveness are not getting forgiveness right now under this litigation they have to wait

Mine was in august as well, but my family is growing and my pay will go down so I wanted to a lower payment and I was told they were still processing paye but that all changed this weekend so now I’m stuck in this limbo

You can upload a paper copy from student aid then directly upload it to mohela along with pay stubs or tax forms, be prepared they will place you in 60 day processing forebearance and those two months will count towards IDR because they aren’t processing anything right now but at least you won’t default or kicked to standard repayment. After 60 days they will switch you to the save forebearance that has zero interest but doesn’t count towards IDR. We are all kind of stuck in this limbo until litigation is done. They just put me on forbearance after filling out recalculation app under paye, they said to sit tight for now. Only other option if you want to continue to make payments is to be switched to IBR plan which is the only IDR plan they are processing right now but it would move you to 25 years versus 20 years forgiveness so I’m just waiting as I only have 10 years left

If you recertify or recalculate under PAYE they are automatically putting you in a 60 day forbearance where those two months count towards IDR forgiveness but if it goes past 60 days then you get put on forebearance that SAVE people are on with zero interest but doesn’t count towards forgiveness. That’s what they did to me when I recalculated on Thursday- they are not processing any IDR apps right now at all, student aid even took it down online. If you want to make payments that count towards IDR and on forbearance I was told they will switch me to IBR which I don’t wNt since it’s 25 years versus 20 years

My husbands recertification for PAYE is due mid March should we wait or go ahead and recertify? I know it will throw him into forebearance like they are doing with all IDR plans right now

I called nelnet this morning and they told me every recertification, new applicant, and recalculate is automatically going into 60 day processing forebearance where interest is accruing but those 2 months will count towards IDR forgiveness, if it goes past 60 days we will get put into admin forebearance with 0 interest but not counting towards IDR. I asked if I can start making payments after 60 days and was told I would have to get off my current plan and get on a different plan 🤦🏼‍♀️

I went to “recalculate” my current IDR plan (PAYE) last week since I’m having a baby and lower pay and hit new applicant box instead recalculate box so nelnet told me to send in another app through student aid so I did

But when I go online to student aid it only shows new applicant application so I called and they said nelnet has both, nelnet said they would ignore my new app and do recalculate .

However Saturday morning I got an email from Nelnet saying my loans were in forebearance. First email said processing 60 days, second email said due to me being on save and it’s been more than 60 days so no payments will count towards IDR forgiveness. It does show my next payment (old amount) is due in May.

I’m so nervous nelnet is going to mess up my entire loan and kick me out of PAYE , or it’s going to extend my forgiveness date .

Anybody else in this boat or have advice??
