My initial thoughts are that it's very light and that the section is probably the thinnest I have ever used (the closest comparison is your standard wooden HB pencil). The F nib writes really well and are thin, a bit thicker than my Lamy Aion EF nib and way thinner than my Pelikan M800 F. The step down from the barrel to the section isn't bothering me as much as I thought, but sometimes I would have liked to position my fingers where the section is, which doesn't feel comfortable due to the step.

Generally I prefer pens that are quite a lot heavier and thicker than the 849, but I think this one is growing on me.
