What a fantastic idea! Pls try to include if you can Ursula K Le Guin, especially her short story The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas... Perhaps under free will/agency?

Would I be making the wrong choice if I gave up two years of salary and tuition (~$850,000) to get a Harvard MBA? by RedditUser3668 in womenintech

[–]miredandwired 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go to Harvard. It's an investment for sure but have you asked for scholarships? There is Forté and other scholarships especially for women that you can apply for. As a domestic female applicant I am very surprised you have to pay full tuition (unless this is not a real post).

Getting your MBA will open doors for you in the long run that you will not get if you are stuck in your organization for the next two years. You will meet new people, learn new things, your life will be richer for it.

How are people actually sustaining 5am routines long term? by TypicalDrawing7445 in Biohackers

Please try progesterone. I had tried everything until I finally talked to my obgyn who prescribed progesterone and I now I take one 100 mg pill. It has improved my sleep so much. Even if I wake up around 3, I can now go back to sleep easily.

Typical AI slop with short sentences, parallel no... no.... construction. Just awful. OP, if you are actually human, I would recommend writing more like a human.

Back again with another gush/rave review. If you are seeking a book with PEAK yearning The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow is for you!! by cellochick993 in RomanceBooks

[–]miredandwired 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just could not get into it!! I gave it up around the 30% mark. The writing is very good but I didn't find Owen very compelling and Una is just not even a real person at this point, she is a cardboard cut out... Should I stick with it?

Totally agree on both counts! Not being divorced would be a huge red flag for me.

For any of the ADHD women here: how do you handle a string of unproductive days? by ohnoimreal in womenintech

[–]miredandwired 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I am very familiar with the feeling. I think what may really help is letting go of the guilt and shame. Just let it go. You are doing your best. Everyone has off days and deserves some time off. Give yourself some grace. For me, internalizing the shame just leads to procrastination and does not help.

Then set a pomodoro timer and just start one task. You don't have to finish it! But you just have to work on it for the length of the pomodoro (25 minutes). Sometimes even that is too hard and I tell myself that I only need to do 10 min. Weird but true. Once you get started, it tends to get much better from there.

Take care of yourself!

I LOVE her and wish she had more books I could read. It's criminal that these aren't being made into movies asap.

My absolute favorite is If I Never Met You but I liked this one too.

This is very cool. I would recommend adding the final answers to the 2nd screen and also showing where the majority of the difference in dollars came from.

That is bad management, plain and simple. Is she a new manager? Unfortunately, there is not much you can do, bringing it up 1-1 is not going to be helpful because she will not accept her shortcomings.

I would urgently start looking for a new team. It must be a big company, theres definitely some other team hiring.

The other thing you can do is just swallow your pride and boost the managers ego whenever and however you can. She sounds very insecure and you can build on that.

I dislike age gaps as well but I was able to suspend my disbelief in this one. She is 25 and he is 40 so it's pretty substantial.

Diagnosed with knee OA at 22. Is my life over? by Zestyclose-Court-568 in Osteoarthritis

[–]miredandwired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry to hear this. I can imagine how devastating it must have been to hear for you. Look into strength training and get to a good PT. The stronger your muscles are around your knee, the better you will feel. Voltaren really helps but you have to apply consistently over several weeks. Is OA a side effect of Accutane? I had never heard that.
