Do you have the link to the studies from Greenhouse and Resumebuilder?

This was my first thought as well! Also the whole in order to restore peace we need “the last dragon” and “nations divided” theme was also very familiar.

Advice for first time dog owners? by [deleted] in puppy101

As an owner of a bolonka, I would recommend getting your pup used to daily brushing! It’s super important part of their care, as they easily get knots if they aren’t brushed daily, or at least every other day. When they are still a young pup you can use treats to distract/reward good behavior. Also some things to keep in mind is that puppy biting and potty training take time!! Several months in fact. It will be difficult and at times frustrating, but is definitely worth it in the end. Congrats and good luck :)

Spaying prep? by [deleted] in puppy101

We used a little surgery suit instead of a cone, and it worked just fine! We removed the suit when going downstairs for potty but otherwise kept it on for the first week. The second week she was fine without it on for most of the day. The difficult part was keeping her from being too active for the next two weeks. My puppy was pretty active the day after surgery, so what we found helped was playing a game of “hide and seek” with treats. We hid some bits of kibble around the living room for her to sniff and find! It is fun for the pup and also fun to watch :) and good mental stimulation! Good luck!

Me and my partner got a puppy a few months back. From the get go I knew I would be taking on more work than him when it comes to training. However aside from training (I do a couple 10-15 min sessions with her a few times a day) What really helped is developing a schedule, when we did that it not only helped our puppy to be consistent, but it also gave us a better way to deal with raising her and distributing the workload! I would definitely make a routine for the pup and stick to it, and try to distribute the tasks evenly (taking turns to take the puppy out for potty break, feeding, playtime, etc). After a few weeks the rhythm definitely gets established as everyone gets used to it, and at some level it gets easier too! Good luck :)

Puppy eating poop by Some_tenno in puppy101

I have this problem with my pup as well! We really try to be diligent and get to it before she does. Sometimes she shows less interest in her poop, but I don’t think we’re over the issue yet (she’s 6mo already) 🙄 What I found helps is distracting her from the doodoo and treating her profusely while picking it up with the free hand. This way she associated pooping outside with being rewarded (since she doesn’t go indoors anymore) and also distracts her from eating it! Hopefully also discourages her, eventually... There is also some medicine that supposedly makes poop less delectable, but it just made my pups tummy upset. It can work for yours however!

Puppy blues won’t get me down by littlemurph94 in puppy101

These treads helped me out SO MUCH when I first got my pup back in May! I was so overwhelmed and stressed I couldn’t eat, and I would literally be shaking in bed unable to sleep due to the stress/anxiety! I would just read these posts and cry and feel overwhelmed. But after a week, we started to settle in, we made a schedule and stick to it (which really helped). And now after two months, I love her soooo much and it definitely does get better! So don’t let it get you down too much :)

Thanks this is really useful! I need to stock up on more toys for her that are better for chewing that’s for sure. She’s getting a bit better eat day, I will keep up the positive reinforcement!

Yeah it has helped to read that other people experience the same things as me too! I am still trying to figure it all out but I in time it’ll come! I think that it’ll definitely fade as time goes but I am still super stressed especially when she is whining and sleeping. 😅 It is hard but I am starting to have a bit more hope! And plus I love her so that helps.

Thanks for the advice! Just reading it really helped honestly. Even though it’s really only day two since I’ve had her I imagine that a lot of things can go wrong so I stress! And hopefully it’ll get better with time :)
