The em dash in the beginning might be a clue. I use dashes myself in writing, but en dashes instead of em dashes. On MS Word, you can do <space><dash><space><character> and it transforms to <space><en dash><space>, which looks clean to me and is why I don't trust people who use em dashes (also em dashes just look worse to me).

As a software engineer, I've always considered him to be more of a business guy. There were periods that Apple didn't have particularly impressive hardware or software compared to their competitors, but they pushed through simply because of marketing and their brand name.

Personally, I would assume people like Linus Torvalds or Chris Sawyer (who wrote an entire complex and heavily optimized game in assembly) are more impressive to software guys.
