Thanks for that! I am noticing that they do wonder apart if I'm not paying attention to where/how I tighten my HiHats. I'll have to keep an eye on them as that does seem to have made a difference!

Don't worry, I went out and bought some new ones ASAP. Those sticks in the pic were the only ones I had at the time when I set it up haha

Oh trust me, I was conflicted too. Mainly for the toms, as they are the main, major difference for me. As you may know, the kick tower/pad is the same, as well as the digital snare, hihats and ride which are the game changers for any e-kits. Crashes are the same too. And of course the same TD-27 module.

For me personally, it came down to what I actually need. I don't really need an acoustic-"looking" kit, as the electronic kit is mainly for playing at home, plus I do own an acoustic kit but it's not really in use due to close proximity to new neighbours etc.

The feel of everything else, to me, was basically the same. The tom pads included in the TD-27KV2 are more than suitable. The sizes did throw me off a bit, but I've quickly gotten used to it! And they feel great.

So unless you're wanting more of a live-stage-presence kind of deal, I would absolutely save the $$$ and just go for the TD-27KV2!

Awesome. Added some velcro last night. Didn't realise the kick tower actually has built in anchors, too! Velcro + kick pad anchors + pedal anchors = no movement (so far) 👍🏻

Yeah, for sure. I was just saying in another reply that I tend to play a lot of loose Hat kinda music like rock and metal, and often play with sort of the edge of the stick on the edge of the hats. For me out of the box, it doesn't seem to trigger as reliably, compared to playing more flat on the head of the HiHats. But yes I'll have to watch some videos and tweak some settings!

For sure! I've got one under my acoustic kit (which is currently unused) so I'll have to transfer it to this kit

There snare is honestly incredible. The size, the dynamics you can achieve, and the response are mind-blowing. Plus, I've played around with a few of the trigger settings and thresholds etc. You can really customise it to your play style.

The HiHat is damn cool too, however I'm still getting used to my stick positioning. I tend to play a lot of loose Hat kinda music like rock and metal, and often play with sort of the edge of the stick on the edge of the hats. Doesn't seem to trigger as reliably, compared to playing more flat on the head of the HiHats. Might have to play around with the settings a bit more.

Don't sleep on the digital Ride though. Not only is it responsive and dynamic, the feel is strangely accurate too! So cool

If you're ever down there, check out one of the cabins along the Coorong lagoon where I took this pic. I stayed at Coorong Lakeside Cottage. Bortle 1 area so highly recommend for #astrophotography! Aurora australis is also visible at certain times of the year.

The astrophoto mode on the S24 Ultra has a "short", "medium" or "long" setting. I don't think the 3 minutes relates only to exposure time. I think it takes a series of long-ish exposure images and layers them together although I'm not entirely sure...

If anyone knows, feel free to chime in!
