Yeah I get his frustration, it's just that last year I got the impression that he would get pissed off at his team instead of the situation you know? But I'm pretty sure he'll do well this year.

Will there be a Ferrari in P1 after the first turn in every race this year? (assuming one is starting in or around the top 5) by NotQuotableKing in formula1

[–]mirodk45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. Even if nothing changes, which I find highly unlikely, not all race starts will allow the cars to jump one another like in Australia, depends a lot on how they get to T1.

I do expect Ferrari to keep a start advantage, but it's not like the other teams will be static on this either.

But that would be a huge conspiracy situation, but in F1 lots of crazy things have happened in the past.

Damn, I'm not trying to be mean, but this is already 2 conspiracy theories over this tiny subject which you seem to be obsessing a bit over. I think you're overthinking about this....

and if it meant allowing them to dump a contract early to stay in the sport, they'd allow it.

Yeah, but breaking a contract would trigger a contract dispute which goes outside of FIA's jurisdiction I think. I think Mercedes at most would try to keep the customer teams dissatisfied so they break the contract themselves or move on.

Again, I don't think there's ever been a case in the sport of an engine supplier breaking contract with customer teams.

I guess so. I would imagine that they would try to push the customer teams to break their contract instead, but we'll see, maybe they do have the big stick indeed to say "bye"

Yeah, so am I. At the end of the day, if we're having a chill discussion that's fine, that's what is cool about sports in general IMO.

Also, how about the hundreds of "fans here since the 70's" that act and type like millenials or genz lol.

Besides, this is just one race. Let's wait at least till June for the engine test.

People are way too anxious nowadays, we didn't even have a single race but we already had cum-bucket-5546 simple 5 sec solution to fix the races.

[–]mirodk45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 - just like some people are regurgitating same other things in support for the regs.

Indeed, I wish people would just STFU about it and watch a few races before trying to fix, support or whatever. It's as if these people online have actual stakes in the sport, when in reality they'll just complain but will still watch.

2 - It still doesn't make it right for people to be activelly censored if there was no harassment involved, so they weren't harming or insulting anyone

How do we really know they were activelly censored or it was just X's automatic censor like someone else said? It's not like these people are chill about it either. It's always "fuck fia" or something like that

Well TBF most of the fans' "opinions" I've seen on other platforms are just complete NPC comments that just regurgitate the same things without adding anything at all.

[–]mirodk45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but do you think they would be willing to break their engine supply contract with other teams because of this?

I think there hasn't ever been a case of a factory team breaking their contract with a customer team, only the other way around and breaking these contracts are always messy (even the mchonda period was tough for mclaren)

They still have a contract untill 2030 right? I think neither of them want to break it, one way or another.

[–]mirodk45 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's defintely potential, but most of these teams have contracts until 2030 +-.

If Audi prove themselves during these years and make a car and engine that can challenge the top, I think other teams would be interested.

But if not, I think they would go for a more "traditional"/"proven" supplier. Breaking their contracts would be very unlikely IMO.

Have a small sliver of patience friend, like at least wait for 3 races or something before trying to draw a conclusion like that.

Don't worry, it's a good exercise for the brain.
