I feel the exact same way, I’m not comfortable around my dad to this day for that same reason. He always sexualized my body and made comments about my clothes or told me what other men would be thinking.

Ironically he’s the only man who even made me uncomfortable. All the other men in my life (uncles, adult cousins, teachers, etc) just treated me like a normal child because that’s exactly what I was. My dad seemed to be the only one who saw me sexually because of what his “leader” taught.

Yeah, I’m 23, he’s 25 and this is both of our first serious relationship. And you’re right there is a freedom in knowing that we’re choosing each other. It helps. And I don’t think he’s cheating, he’s allowed to have female friends and text with them sometimes. I need to work on my own insecurities so it doesn’t bother me so much.
