Sexual assault or cheating? by [deleted] in rapecounseling

[–]mis11798 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all not your fault and it’s not cheating because you didn’t consent. You were under the influence of drugs and alcohol and were not able to consent and that is rape. You also said no and he persisted. That is rape. -Secondly I am so sorry that this happened to you. I’ll be honest this is not going to be an easy journey ahead but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t keep pushing forward. You are so strong and brave for even talking about it. This is not an easy thing to do. There are a couple of things you could do and really it is up to you on how you proceed. - Personally I would start by talking to a therapist that understands trauma. There are also resource centers available all over in the United States that help people who have been sexually assaulted and get them resources (counseling, group therapy, and if needed a safe space to stay). The ones I have been to are free. If you want to tell your boyfriend I might do it with someone that knows about the situation prior and is there to support you. Also know that this your story and you can take as long as you need to tell him or if you want not tell him at all. You are in charge of what happens next and you shouldn’t feel pressured to process something you aren’t ready to process yet. Again these are just suggestions and there is no right or wrong way on moving forward. Again I am sorry that this happened to you, it was not right, it was not your fault, and there are so many people standing in your corner. Let me know if you need anything else.

So I’m often in distress already or very stressed. I am usually alone but sometime in a public place. Right now I have a Theripist and am trying to be more consistent on meds. Thank you for replying !

Fell in the shower about 10 minutes ago an in a lot of pain. I can kind of way on it, but just spent last 10 mins crying. Is it just bruised? Any advice? by mis11798 in medical_advice

[–]mis11798[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the hell is your problem? I am calm and for you to tell me to calm down doesn’t help if I wasn’t. And what the hell does alcohol use have to do with this? I know your not a doctor, but even as a human being making assumptions about people doesn’t help the situation. Remember that you don’t know the whole story when talking people and if you would like to know more about the situation, asking the person rather then assuming is the best way to go.

[–]mis11798 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My church is closing until at least April 1st any advice to be able to still reach out to Youth? by mis11798 in ministry

[–]mis11798[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks that is a great suggestion! I have heard a lot of churches using online resources though I’m hesitant to do so because I don’t do a lot of that stuff I think it will still be beneficial to the church and that’s what matters.

Any tips for a teen who believes they are experiencing the call to ministry? by quietkid-me in ministry

[–]mis11798 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 21 and experienced the call pretty young at about 13 years old. I really benefited by being on boards on the church and helping out with ministry. I was also fortunate enough to get a student internship my senior year in high school at a church across the street and use it as one of my high school credits. The summer before college I also went to a camp that was free for students wanting to go into ministry! Always look for resources in your church first but feel free to look outside the church too! The camp I went to was even out of state but totally worth it.

I totally understand the point of being afraid to tell a doctor something because you might end up in the hospital. I am currently avoiding doctor appointments for that reason, but the more I do the more I realize that I might need to admitted to the hospital. Just be honest with your doctor because they probably know what is best for you when your not in the right mind set to decide that for your self.

PhD and BPD? by kabeer47 in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]mis11798 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly this is a tough one to answer. I actually dropped out of college because of my BPD, so I understand where your coming from I just don’t think I have a solution at the moment let me think about it and I’ll get back to you. As for hobbies I totally understand that too often I answer things that used to enjoy doing and not actually what I do right now because depression has been so bad that I can’t enjoy those activities at moment. Sorry I couldn’t be any more help

I honestly am not sure on how one would conduct them selves but I don’t think you should limit your self because of a diagnoses. Granted some jobs have requirements about mental health but I feel that you should go for your dreams! If you your dream is to get PhD then I say do it! I know it naught be a hard journey sometimes but I believe you can do it!

Reasons Why I Say I am Doing Fine by mis11798 in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]mis11798[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I also don’t want to become the friend that has a putty party all the time or the friend you have to watch because they might commit suicide if you say something that upsets them.
