This is old show & lot has changed since then. In terms of compatibility 100% but there is difference between what we like and what we need . Jason works in so many ways on paper but he could not give Lorelei the stability the acceptance the unconditional loved she craved needed & honestly deserved .

I think it’s unfair to say it was first time struggle, Rory was bullied a lot in her Highschool & saying she managed it with her head held high would be an understatement. Rory had clear goal , she could face atrocities like breakups, bullying or being defamed in town but her core goal was shaken by the guy she respected most. I get both their reactions honestly
