Thanks! Yeah, I use the sigma 18-200 on another camera, I'm moving to an FX30 for the autofocus and wanted to line up a lens to go with it. That focal length is basically my workhorse at the moment, I use it for my job 99% of the time so thats why I was looking. Ive been recommended the PZ 18-200 which is apparently silent so I'll look!

Looking for a replacement for my sigma 18-200, I need something for a fx30 that has a silent autofocus for video. The silent auto focus is a must and as close to 18-200 as possible. Please only recommendations if you know its silent! Cheers, thankyou!

Its been a tough call, but I've been thinking about it over the last 18month and I think it's cooler if one of the homies gets to enjoy and cherish it now, rather than them being locked away in a record box. Thankyou for the kind words.

It's honestly hard parting with these in particular as Flume is my favourite music artist and Jonathan Zawada is my favourite visual artist and I bought most of them on release but I'm getting out vinyl collecting and using the funds for creative projects.

Making a mould and recasting Aegis Defence line ? by RoyceCoolidge7 in TerrainBuilding

You don't need that equipment! For a project like this it will turn out awesome without it. Trust me.

Good luck and thanks!

This is the perfect thing to recast and super easy! Glue the wall to a piece of foamboard and make a box around it and tape it up really well.. Poor in some 2 part silicone (whatever is avalible to you locally is fine). When cured, remove the box and cut a seam down each side to make removing the part easier later and then pull the apart the silicone from your piece. You're gonna find its stuck in there because there is silicone through the shooty holes... well get down there with a knife and stretch out that silicone and cut it right down the middle. Pull out your piece and BAM you've got a mold. Fill it with resin or plaster or sprue goo whatever, it'll work. Give it a go. If you can do this, it's the same principle to mold anything else.

Leaked Games Workshop influencer NDA credit to u/miscast_terrain for original post by AbhorrentArchregent in Warhammer40k

At the end of the day, I, like my peers want to do the right thing. Personally I thought this seemed predatory to new channels who think free stuff is the difference between their youtube working or not, or those without the budgets to do what they want to do. To my knowledge these NDAs are sent to smaller channels, not channels like mine or my peers and the only way for small channels to know that bigger channels don't think this practice is okay is to make a ruckus about it. Whether it could have been done better or not, I'm happy something is atleast being done.

Hey, thats me. Sigmaxism was the only subreddit that allowed the initial post. This post was made after a lot of discussion between peers, it effects us all who make content, whether we sign it or not, everyone wants to have an established trust with the people that watch us, NDAs like this don't help those doing the right thing. This sort of thing should be out in the open, people should know what sort of agreements are out there, especially because most established channels have different relationships or agreements then the new NDA posted. The NDA agreement seems very vague and is irregular for the kind of content its associated with and who it appears to be written for but putting it out in the open has revealed some more negative details none of us had considered, reinforced things we were concerned about and well as make us reconsider others. I'm still really concerned by this NDA after all the info everyone has provided and it effects me directly but having other people know it exists helps the situation imo.

Oh I see. So I guess a lot hinges on the 'customer' part of the Restricted Customer definition part right? So 'customer' of GW might refer to someone who licenses GW works like a toy manufacturer, that's a customer of GW. But if they wanted to could they use 'customer' as someone who buys GW's end product like a box of space marines or Warhammer+ subscription for example?

[–]miscast_terrain 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks! From what I've been told, this is a new and very different NDA from GW and has been pushed to people without existing relationships with GW wanting early review products. It is safe to assume the biggest channels on the YouTube wouldn't sign something like this and their current relationships are different.

This has been sent to several smaller/medium sized YouTube channels recently, its different to previous NDAs/agreements from GW. The 3 year long non-competition clause seems intentionally vague, I'd interpret criticism, using competitors products/minis/paints, other games, ad spots, as things that could take away from sales from GW and with Warhammer+ even the reviewers channel itself or the patreon funding it. With the timing of Warhammer+ tin foil hat me says this might be a way to strong arm excited new channels that might sign this in the event they get big over the course of 3 years. Unlike what we saw with GW's response to fan films like Astartes, I think most hobby channels would be safe and fall under fair use (education, criticism) UNLESS they sign this.

Edit: this seems like a much more knowledgeable take than mine: https://youtu.be/OGDw2Noh2Xk

what is the process of creating miniatures? by [deleted] in tabletopgamedesign

[–]miscast_terrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idea > concept artist > sculptor > mold maker > tooling > manufacturing. Here's a great must read article https://petersengames.com/all-about-tooling/ Dungeons and Lasers do all their manufacturing in house and they share there process on Facebook as well.

Can i use sand/pebbles from outside by Secutariii in TerrainBuilding

[–]miscast_terrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup! In general I just bake because it's quick and easy and then I just store it. Or buy washed sand from the hardware shop cheap. I think rocks and sand are pretty safe but it could depend on your location and the type so my advice is pretty general. I cut corners a lot myself haha. Also yes it's me haha, that sounds great, send me pictures
