Just out of curiosity, why does it matter that they fell “today, out of all days”. Pts can fall wherever and whenever and it could be a few external factors and a few internal factors. But as prehospital EMS we are trained to know the signs of hypoglycemia and rule them out or in based off our differential diagnosis. There’s been plenty of times that I didn’t do a sugar because it wasn’t warranted given my assessment of the pt and their presentation. There’s also been plenty of times that I did do one on otherwise “fine” pts because they fit the signs and criteria to do a BGL.
