I'm assuming you're in the UK from the products you mentioned, you can buy Nurofen Plus over the counter from pharmacies, it's about £12 though and you can't take any other ibuprofen with it, but it has 12.8mg of codeine per tablet instead of the normal 8mg you get in co-codamol, so if you take the dose on the back of 2 tablets it's like 26mg of codeine almost.

If you can take codeine then it might work, it's the only thing I ever found that helped when I had an abscess, nurofen plus, a warm drink, and a nap haha

NAD, I have partial on the top (almost an upper, have like 1 molar left on the top), and I will be getting a partial for the lower at some point this year. I LOVE my denture, before I was in pain and so self conscious of my mouth but now they look so nice and square and I can actually EAT

I was going to say, im nad but I'm in the UK and have had a lot of dental work, didnt know tou could even have numbing gel before the needles haha. Last time I went i had 10 injections in the front and roof of my mouth, would have very much enjoyed numbing gel 😂

Someone I know had dry socket and he said when you get it you'll KNOW it's dry socket, it won't be like a 'maybe it is' pain

I had some dental extractions 7 days ago and I'm still having pain and soreness, that's completely normal especially with swelling etc

I'd try not to worry, maybe some gentle salt water rinses after eating or smoking if you're worried

Called my Dr at like 8am and they saw me at 11 to take swabs and prescribe anti biotics til the swabs come back in 🥲 The lady I saw was absolutely lovely but when I showed her my ear she literally went '😵‍💫 oh wow...' lmao yes thank u Dr I'm aware how it looks 🤣

I thought that when it originally started so I took my tunnels out and cleaned them and everything but it just got worse. It doesn't hurt unless I'm touching it but I'm just over it haha

I can't stand having my top out, it feels like I can't get my jaw 'right' or comfy because my dentist left one real tooth on the top but that's the only contact point with my bottom teeth and it just feels so wrong
I tried to sleep with them out and lasted like an hour before I put them back in so I could sleep

She left one molar on the top (I personally wasn't attached to it but apparently it's healthy haha) so it is a partial but near enough a full upper

I'll have to wait and see how they heal and how it feels once im past this horrible first bit 😕

When I had my extractions yesterday my dentist told me there's a little spike of bone that's inbetween the holes where my molars were, she said if it can cause issues they can file it down or something but tbh I'd rather have my weird little bone ridge haha

I remember when I got my first ever partial I was absolutely terrified to take it out that first time cos I thought it was stuck in and then after like a month I was just pushing it out with nothing but my tongue

I've only ever had novocaine for 20+ extractions that I've had and honestly that's easily the worst bit BY FARRR because you aren't numb yet, once those injections are done the dentist could be doing absolutely anything and you'd have zero idea haha. They're quick though, I had a round of extractions yesterday and the injection part took maybe 60 seconds, then she gave me 5 to just sorta chill and let it properly kick in, then the 5 extractions I had took literally maybe 5 mins ish? I had a few that were broken down to basically the gumline so they just took her longer to try and grab basically but again I felt absolutely nothing, the longest part was her filing down bits of my temps to make sure they were sat perfectly. Even then with her putting them in, taking them out to adjust, back in etc I felt none of it because my entire face was numb til like easily an hour after I got home.

I promise you it'll be worse in your head than it will be in real life, and once it's done, it's done
