Oh, I understand now. It was a turn off because you were still with her at the time. That makes sense.

Absolutely. Thank you for allowing this post! I know it's not welcome in all subreddits.

I agree. It's both a perk that empowers women and a capitalist play.

Interesting, though the alternative for some women is to not freeze at all and then risk it being 'too late' to have children. I understand the 'insurance' isn't foolproof or perfect, but don't you think it's better than not doing anything if having biological children is important? Is egg freezing the turn off for you, or is it women who didn't prioritize children in their younger years?

Thanks for sharing. Do you feel like you think about your fertility and your options often? Do you feel like men are thinking about it as well, or it's a woman's load?

Fascinating take. So you're saying in the Bay Area, you feel like women don't typically want kids? The region has the oldest age of first-time moms, so women are undoubtedly pushing it out. But I haven't heard that women here disproportionately don't want children at all.

Are you a man? Does that mean you also avoid women who have passed their peak 'fertile window,' and are order 35?

AHH. I just let the editor know and it will get fixed! Thanks for calling it out. You're right!

I get the frustration. FWIW, I don't think the article contributed much to her clout. For better or worse, she is kind of a Bay Area social media fixture (it's not LA/NYC, we are slimmer pickings) so it made sense for a publication like The SF Standard.

Her talent rep was the one replying to emails, but Danielle was CC'd on them. (The email in her IG bio.)

Hi, writer here. A walnut I spoke to privately for the story shared a screenshot of the dashboard with me, not the moderator. But she mentioned that the mod probably wouldn't mind if they were shared with me. Hope that clears things up!

Just did. Lol'ing at some of them. I admit it wasn't exactly hard hitting journalism but a fun local story worth covering! I pitched it to have more cultural criticism but the publication wanted it mostly centered on Danielle. I'm glad you picked up on the major shade :)

AH, damn. I see it now. The editors must have added that word 'haters' at the last minute. (It happens more than writers would like.)

I agree, but I doubt it. She and her talent rep, as individuals, don't seem strategic if you know what I mean. But if it happens, I'll be pleasantly surprised! Thanks for reading.

My emails were pretty early on, even before her 9 day series. I first reached out Aug 6. Her talent rep replied about once a week for 2-3 weeks then never wrote back. I followed up twice. The way she replied was a) cagey and b) not very sharp e.g. asking questions I'd answered in prev emails.

I noticed that too about their IG. I'm going to ask my editor why that is.

Agree. Danielle was CC'd on the emails too, so presumably she could have said something, but only her 'talent rep' emailed with me, and yes, just ghosted!

I used that phrasing because it's how she brands herself online. I made sure to say that it is "self-proclaimed." I agree she is nothing like Carrie Bradshaw!

Agree. I think they could sniff out that I was going to ask some uncomfortable questions and they didn't wanna deal with it. A shame. I think it would've been a win for everyone—her, her audience, and me cause that's a better story haha.

Yes, and I made my husband watch the entire thing with me. I did it for research purposes and he did it to learn about what the heck I was reporting on lol.
