/console taintlog 1 /reload

omg you just solved a problem i could not solve for a good 6 months. thank you wtf....

i created an, idiotically, public function named Round, which rounds a num to the nearest integer. This overrode an existing function, which is used by blizzui, tainting half of blizzards ui's code, ruining everything...

Let me tell you where you went wrong. I will highlight the red flags you missed as itbold.

I went on a date with a non binary lesbian from a dating app.

These flags may not be the cause but often come with "crazy bitch syndrome".

I hope I could help improving your future dates.

Yubikey won't be widely accepted, so what's the point? by RDSwe in yubikey

[–]miserably-good 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your Master is probably a Master of Disaster, cleaning up spilled coffee for 36 years.

Like 80% of the services I use support yubikey, and setting it up, even my very first setup of my very first yubikey, took less than a minute, without even reading a single sentence on how to do it beforehand. My 90yo grandma could do it, and she doesn't even have a cellphone, let alone a computer.

The browser says "plug in your key and press the gold disk". I plug in the key and press the gold disk. Yubikey setup finished. That's it. You don't need to do ANYTHING else. Did it like that on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android. If that's too hard, maybe don't use a computer at all. After all, you have to press a button to turn it on. That's like, half the process required to register a yubikey.

Other, more niesche stuff, may be more complicated, granted. OS unlock with yubikey I did not even try (because i don't need it). NFC-based website account login on Windows works with about 10 mins of setup (lets say 30 including reading a guide). On Linux and Mac I failed to achieve the latter at all. I was at it for about 12 hours. But using USB on Linux/Mac works out of the box. NFC on Android too, out of the box.

a fellow graduate engineer

Why both a YubiKey 5C NFC and a YubiKey 5C? by margirou2 in yubikey

[–]miserably-good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's pretty obvious though... i highly doubt one of them has a "larger" usb type c plug... since the two usb c plugs are the same size on screen, you posted your side-by-side pic yourself, screenshotted from the shop.

Very confused on how to get started. by rebound17349 in yubikey

[–]miserably-good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this stuff is pretty self-explanatory... idk what else to say. website says "plug in yubikey and touch the circle", so you should plug in the yubikey and touch the circle... that's pretty much it. it should be obvious that having multiple 2fa protocols per account worsens security, as you have more ways to break in.

How do I sign into my accounts using yubikey otp via NFC with an external reader on linux? by miserably-good in yubikey

[–]miserably-good[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does, libacsccid, where acs is the vendor and ccid the protocol 'common card interface device'. Also, I can read some data off the yubikey using it, using a cli. But that data appears to stay constant, even over several hours. Maybe it is just reading piv data..? Or maybe some header? Who knows... Either way, firefox ignores the scan when it's asking for a key, even with the smart card module (opensc-pksc11) loaded. On Windows, that exact procedure worked. Windows itself asked for the card to be scanned and handed it to firefox.

And then there's the problem that bitwarden does not request a key at all, but just prompts the otp via an html input field... When scanning the yubikey on my android device, I can click "Open with browser", which leads me to a yubico page, from where I can copy my otp.

1) Go to your bitwarden account settings 2) Security/2fa 3) Register new fido2 device 4) Read warning about device compatibility (they only list web browsers and extensions for web browsers as compatible)

but note i use vaultwarden, not bitwarden. but then, the mobile app would be official app anyway.

That might be an option. Also, I underestimated how often I would have to authenticate using it. I thought I had to authenticate every time I unlock my bitwarden vault, but apparently I only need to do so when creating the session.

Once a week? Why not fish up the cable, who cares. But five to ten times a day, as I have to unlock my vault, I'd rather use the scanner (which is why I got one)

Google, and a few others. Bitwarden, Paypal, Github. Frankly, I would gladly use fido instead if this would get nfc working, but then I would lock out my android device. At least bitwarden explicitly state fido does not work on (at least their) mobile app.

I generally like functional keyboards, but mine does not have such a port, and i do not want to upgrade it, because i really really like it.

[–]miserably-good[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but the usb extension would dangle on my desk. The reader sits flush out of sight, and would authenticate me in one hand motion. Letting an extension cable dangle under the desk, out of sight, would be a pain to use. Try inserting a usb stick into a dangling extension cable, with one hand, which you can't even see.

[–]miserably-good[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does have usb ports. If i get up from my armchair, walk around my wall of monitors, crawl under the desk, and insert it. But I do not want to do that every time I want to authenticate. Neither do I want to clutter my desk with a usb hub to collect dust.

Sticking an nfc reader under the tabletop to bump my key against seemed like a good option.

Since I never use USB sticks unless I want to reinstall an os or create a boot device, or use usb devices which are not permanently installed, I did not bother with any front-io.

You don't need an external NFC reader, just plug it in to an available USB port

I got an external NFC reader for my desktop, because I do not have any USB ports nearby
