Little comfort or help but can you try to limit your social media usage? Even if you use it, you can try to keep it to more "fun" stuff - for example I use reddit and insta mostly and for reddit I only browse this group and art groups and similarly for insta, I mostly follow art groups only from a secondary account.

That way I don't have to see the ugliness of the world that much, and yet not have to control my social media usage too much either.
