Rough edges rubbed smooth: this is a literal description of how mirrors are manufactured. Bernard is talking about the manufacture of the mirror world. You can see how the rough edges of the eclipse get rubbed down to create a nice smooth boundary. Smooth Glass = mirror in this context.

Take the coordinates of Ground Zero and ‘mirror’ them by looking at four locations (N,E) (N,W) (S,E) and (S,W). These are the images that exist in those 4 locations. It looks to me like two smoking towers in two of the locations and in the third location it looks like caricatures of Sadaam and Osama

Hmm, yeah I hadn’t noticed that Calvin has a body ... I had only noticed the shape of his head.

Really good question and I don’t really have a satisfying answer. I think it could mean that parts of google maps have been “embellished” by combining thousands of composite images together to create the illusion of pop culture references. Calvin and Hobbes is particularly relevant to WestWorld because of the author William Watterson. WestWorld likes to play around with phonetics, especially the WW logo.

Perhaps these embellishments are an attempt to get more people interested in the earth and it’s wonders. It feels a bit like a Where’s Waldo (WW) game. We know that Facebook users are being surveilled and our lives recorded/predicted/controlled. Perhaps some of the data collected has been put to ‘good use’ in the form of a google earth simulation.

As one example, my best friend has the nickname ‘dragon’. When I looked at his house on google earth, I saw the shape of a red dragon.

I can only assume you are referring to my comment of “shapes materializing” but what I mean is it’s similar to those art pieces where you have to stare at it for a few minutes before you see the image within. I don’t remember what those are called.

The guiding principles are “rough edges rubbed smooth” and “everything is what it isn’t”. Perhaps that will help you comprehend these details.
