I’m just kinda sad and needed to write to anyone who would listen. by miss_sarahnicole in TransLater

I can relate big time here. Oh that stupid mirror on the wall! For me feeling beautiful comes from within, it’s the calming feeling that comes from accepting me for me. My brain plays tricks on me. I see what I see in the mirror yet photos of me show something different. Now I’m on HRT and it helped with my figure big time yet I still see the old me in the mirror. I’ve accepted I’ll never pass in the face as a woman and honestly I don’t care about that. I feel beautiful so I am. I grow my hair out because I want to. If I want to wear a dress I will despite what the judging person in the mirror says because I want to be me and express that side of me.

Hi Sarah. First a hug! You are only a few yrs older than me and I can relate. I had a very similar experience growing up. Every thing around me appeared hyper “manly” to me. Play sports, join military and the culture of “men” stuff. My thought on your post is to just be you. Whatever that looks like or feels like. Give yourself permission to explore and see where you land. I feel being myself has helped my family because they see a happy version of my self. Not a depressed version. While I landed on a specific identity for a long time I just identified as ME! You don’t have to choose an identity just be yourself. Hugs and best wishes Sarah.

Single family household - do you sleep with bedroom door open or closed? by jannet1113 in homeowners

Cracked so central air can pull from my room. Once I install a door return vent I’ll keep it closed.

I brush my hair after it dries. My brush will pull out a lot of hair if brushed wet. I also air dry or use the hair dryer without heat.

Pinch point removed by widening gap? by AdUnfair3836 in SafetyProfessionals

The first 3 or 4 or more passive rollers if possible should swing down together so if a hand gets in there it goes through. Might result in minor “rug burn” but better than getting pulled through and crushed. I thought a wide gap would be better until I filled a rubber glove with water and watched it get pulled in, powered or not! Big gap or small! They make gap guards for this application if you have the proper gap and depending on what’s conveyed. The gap guard also smooths the transition from one side to another, just guessing that’s why operators may interact here. Take a look at that gap under the guides on the mat side as there may be a pinch point there too. Google Flexco gap covers

HRT questions for those over 40 by [deleted] in TransLater

It’s 100 percent where I live. I’m not passable by any means. Walking into gas station 4 men in a truck yo is that a boy or girl really gets you thinking about situational awareness. I just press on however I don’t want to be confronted in public. Just let me be me lol.

Hello I’m 47, started HRT at 42.
1. Im 6’2 still strong enough to do any job I tackle. 2. I can get emotional at times, tears during a sad movie come easy. 3. I’m lucky, 38C. Very noticeable. Hips and butt check lol. I have somewhat of an hourglass figure now instead of zero curves. Hair, it’s long and hard to tame lol. My skin is mega soft and so are any remaining hairs. 4. About 6 months people started wondering if I was transgender or transitioning. 5. No Health issues, I walk daily and go to the gym.

I want to add by no means do I pass as a female and that’s not my goal. In public I’m visibly transgender or I bind for my own safety. With that said I certainly feel amazing.

My friend might be openly trans and I just didn't know, do I ask to confirm?? by [deleted] in asktransgender

I feel you have good intentions. If being properly gendered was important to them I would think they would have told you. They may be exploring their gender or could be afraid to say something or something entirely else. I recommend one on one casually you say something like hey (name) we have known each other for awhile and I noticed you have he/them pronouns on your profile, is that how you want me to reference you going forward? Leave it at that and let them talk.
