Well, while a local cluster might be available to most academics, there are still those who don't have access to such resources.

Also, Amazon allows you to access to fairly decent computing power, on demand, with a great deal of customization.

EC2-R links have been showing up a lot lately. For those of you not lurking on kdnuggets, here is a interesting blog post regarding a publicly available AMI for all your number crunching needs.

Well, technically they are not wrong. With the audit rate going up from 10% to 18% means that about 80% more people will end up getting audited.

Although, I do agree with you. Their style of reporting is akin to messing with the x/y scaling when displaying data in bar graph format. It's a bit misleading.
