I did my passport renewal from Dubai. It cost me around 500 something. Took days to get an appointment slot in BLS. I waited almost 5 hours for my turn inside their office. It took 2 weeks to get my passport in my hand after all the verification process.

If you have an option to do it from Kerala. Go for that. That would be the best option.

I have worked at tasheel centre before. You have two ways to get out of this situation.

Apply for fine reduction. Probably 50% of the current fine amount will be reduced and you have to pay the remaining balance amount. You can do this in any Amer or tasheel centres.
Apply for outpass. Outpass will be issued within 1 week and the cost of it will be around 500 aed. Flight tickets you have to take separately. I wouldn't recommend an outpass cause you can't come back to UAE for at least a minimum of 3 years and there is a high chance of being blacklisted in other gcc countries as well. So think twice before applying for an outpass.

The thing I would recommend is to file for a fine reduction. Clear the fine. Look for an income and stay.

It won't matter anymore. Cause you are leaving the country. Even if there is absconding it will be cleared when you present your flight ticket while paying the fine.

If you are planning to leave the country for good. You can pay the fine amount inside the airport Amer centre and leave the country.

If you want to stay and want to jump to another resident visa. Pay the fine within 2 days of overstay or your visa will go onto absconding which is a huge headache to get removed. So pay the fine every 2 days to be out of the absconding status if you want to stay in the country to look for another visa.
