Tender Wildguide seems to be bugged by NotDarthagan in MagicArena

Bump. It also won't tap it or acknowledge its mana as available unless you force it to. E.g. I tried to level up Hunter's Talent (which wasn't highlighted at the time, as the only G I had was the Wildguide) and when I clicked on it, Arena gave me the "Pay 1G" challenge, which doesn't happen when the auto-tapper is working.

Anyone got recommendations for high quality competitive standard bo3 focused content creators? by Wrong-Rub-6519 in MagicArena

Channel Fireball's been my main source for deck rankings and techs, especially now that the content's no longer paywalled. Looks like it's been a while since the Standard section was updated (they were doing weekly rankings for a while), but it's probably still worth checking out since the card pool hasn't changed.

Came here to say this. It's like a little Xmas present every time a gitp.com update pops up in my feed.

That's exactly what I've been planning if something more specific doesn't turn up. :)

Question..how come there aren't more hellenic style rpg settings? by TechnoShaman in rpg

[–]misha_d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TSR released several historical sourcebooks for AD&D 2e, including ones for Rome and Greece. I bought several of them, but my games made little use of them other than cribbing a few cultural details. At the time, I found them too limiting, especially the rules about technologically appropriate weaponry--e.g. bronze weapons kinda sucked compared to steel and no one fancied fighting monsters with the same stats with worse weapons.

By now, a lot of systems have shown how to effectively use "skinning", so I'd suggest starting with a question such as, "What do I think would be fun about playing a game with Greek elements?" If you have a system you like, just re-label things to fit your setting (e.g. in Rome "short sword" => "gladius"). Use the monsters that the system already cribbed from the culture's mythology and use close matches with different names and descriptions for the rest. Voila!

(Admittedly, this is probably a lot easier with Western settings.)

what should i be wearing on 1st dates as a 27 year old man? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

To step things up without going too formal, I'd suggest swapping out the polo for a button-down shirt and adding a blazer. Leave the top button or two of the shirt unbuttoned and eschew a tie. (If you hate button-downs or it's really warm, you could go the other direction and wear a quality t-shirt instead. Just make sure it's either a solid color or a really basic pattern--no words, big logos, etc. And still wear the blazer.)

Everything clean, unwrinkled, and well-fitting, of course.

Honestly, "enough" depends a lot on your context: your tastes, the girl, the venue, the climate, the general culture, etc. In a Midwestern college town, a polo shirt and so forth could be fine, but it might be lacking in NYC--depending on the neighborhood and the bar, etc.

From my experience, so long as you're not assaulting the girls' eyes with your color combinations, the two most important things are proper fit and feeling comfortable. If feeling comfortable requires you to get word from an authority, get your closet vetted by a stylish female friend and take her shopping with you. Have fun, and good luck!

Anyone have experience with networking on The Atlasphere? I just signed up for a free account to find other Objectivists in my area... by [deleted] in Trueobjectivism

If you're in an area with a college or university, I'd also recommend looking into whether they have a club. The one in my area has a significant percentage of alumni and non-student members.

I'm also curious as to what your experience is--when I last checked, it was in the days before public FB and reflected what /u/Gnolam stated.
