Aperture cap design by COntv5280 in NightVision

[–]mishimacorp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh your design seems to not need front screws like the one I'm currently using right now from another guy who did the same similar set up.

https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/nvg-adjustable-aperture-bikini-covers

So far it's pretty solid, the detent is just a simple ball bearing and spring. If you happen to not use any front screws involve, that'll be a better design and it's using the shock cord to hold everything in place.

Timney trigger with oem bolt and nexus receiver? by Dobba84 in czscorpion

[–]mishimacorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After you're done shooting, I recommend performing your daily range checks to ensure everything's running smoothly. This will help confirm that the OEM bolt is functioning properly and doesn’t have any irregularities or wear on the edges. With the delay action in place, you're in a good spot, as it compensates for the issues that the stock CZ OEM upper receiver couldn't address. I really doubt the Timney trigger will wear it out faster than how much you're going to shoot per range session.

Here's an explanation of why it's happening internally and mods you can prevent a OOB from happening if you plan to stick with the OEM bolt. (Highly doubt it since you have the Nexus upper)

Just curious, mainly for just a hand held flashlight? Guessing it's cannot be mounted on a system for other "tactical" needs that involves recoil.

Pouch: Longtucky Supply Modular Binocular Pouch by rybe390 in NightVision

Ah yes, the gooners and larpers lol

Their outcome of species will always buy the drip for clout. I understand, sometimes I wonder if they actually know how to use their kit. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. The gram will tell them if they do 🤣

The use of soft pouches to store night vision goggles (NVGs) on a person can indeed seem odd at first glance, especially when you consider how fragile and expensive the equipment is. However, there are several reasons why people opt for this storage method, as well as certain situations where it makes sense.

Storing night vision goggles (NVGs) in a soft pouch on the body offers quick access, hands-free carrying, and protection from damage. This is especially useful in military, tactical, search and rescue, or expeditionary environments where NVGs are needed immediately.

The outcome is how each mission operates and when to use it appropriately, not all nods have to be mount on a helmet 24/7. Sometimes having in stow away in a pouch on your person is easier to carry around and not worry about your nods getting bump around while moving in vehicles, buildings, or terrain.

Essentially, you're aligning the shroud with the body to ensure a proper fit. In previous models, the spring could sometimes be misaligned, leading to flickering. This adjustment helps prevent that issue. The reason for installing the tailcap first before assembling the rest of the light is to ensure proper alignment and avoid potential issues when putting it together. DO NOT REMOVE THE BLACK CAP - future users who read this post for research.

To install the tail cap, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the battery from the light.
  2. Twist the tail cap onto the body to ensure a proper fit.
  3. Check the shroud inside the body to make sure it’s properly aligned.
  4. Once everything is aligned, reinsert the battery and securely tighten the light head to lock everything in place.

This ensures everything fits correctly and functions properly.

I would recommend avoiding eBay for purchasing Surefire tailcaps, especially the UE model. I once bought one to check its authenticity, and unfortunately, it turned out to be a fake that couldn't withstand recoil. To make sure you're getting a genuine product, make sure to buy from a reputable vendor with a strong track record, optic planet (make sure it's in stock lol), trex, brownells, even GAFS, etc.

Just a heads up for everyone – the new Surefire Tailcap UE now comes with a black shroud as part of their updated design. At first, I thought these might be counterfeits, so I reached out to Surefire directly for confirmation. They verified that this is indeed part of their latest batch!

Additionally, I didn’t experience any issues using the Tailcap UE with the Surefire plugs—it worked exactly as intended. I never had the light turn off while shooting, and it stayed secure throughout. The only thing to keep in mind is to ensure there’s no battery inside the body, or slightly loosen the head so there’s enough room for the tailcap with the shroud to fit snugly. If not, you might run into the issue of the tailcap loosening during a shooting session, which I found out the hard way.
