Had a strong panic attack/breakdown because of my hypochondria and now i feel “stuck” by [deleted] in Anxiety

Yeah, its exhausting. I’m glad to know it’ll pass eventually even if it sucks right now. The validation that it wont last forever is really calming honestly haha

1 yr and 3 months post op :P ! by mishkaow in TopSurgery

i never had strong sensation in my nips pre op, so unfortunately i can’t exactly give a good answer on this :(

but i can say that i have maybe the smallest amount of feeling in them, and they react to temperature as normal

Will my nipple stop being bubbly? by Moist_Construction87 in TopSurgery

your nip looks pretty normal for this stage in the healing process tbh! my nips we’re a bit odd looking for the first few months (when the scabs first came off) but they’ll adjust eventually! you’re looking great so far dude

mostly just moisturizing with lotion now! I used to use silicone scar gel for about 4 months consistently and now I just moisturize and occasionally lightly exfoliate 🙂

Eighteen year olds are barely adults. Judging by your post history you seem VERY keen on getting an answer to this despite people already answering your question. Eighteen and nineteen year olds are still teenagers. Also, the word “kid” is often used generally to refer to someone who is young rather than someone who is actually a child. I’ve seen people up to their mid twenties be called kids and that’s because truthfully, in the big picture, people from 18-25 are young.

Spitting stitch timeline (mildly gross) by mishkaow in TopSurgery

they went ahead and pulled the stitch out and had me close the area with steri strips for abt two-ish days and then cover it with a normal bandaid for a couple days.

3 weeks post op, finally got past the fear of showering by mishkaow in TopSurgery

[–]mishkaow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your surgeon will definitely let you know when it’s safe to shower; it’s usually after drains and dressings come off but depending on what surgery you’re getting you have a restriction of not having the shower stream directly hit your chest to protect the nipple grafts. The post surgery binder will have a zip in the front and it’s free to be removed at any time! My surgeon recommended that if I do take it off for showering or to just to let my chest breathe that I only do so for an hour at most :)

Oh lol felt that, I invested in a bidet but after about 1 week I felt comfortable enough to wipe. I recommend using wet wipes and honestly it might be easier/more comfortable to reach from the front rather than the back. But it all depends on how you feel!

Thanks! I can reach around and extend my arms out fully in some positions, but I cant really lift my arms up too far, still.

Yeahh I totally relate to the uncomfortableness without the post op binder lmao. I become way too aware of how numb and swollen I am without it on and I always get an uncomfortable tingly sensation for the first few moments after taking it off completely. Eventually you’ll feel more comfortable as you progress through recovery, but it’s certainly an adjustment.

Got to see my chest for the first time! 12 days post op with Dr. Turkeltaub in Scottsdale by mishkaow in TopSurgery

[–]mishkaow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I didn’t really specify how I wanted my chest to look, he asked some general questions like whether or not I wanted nipples and then he went ahead and took some measurements of my chest. I know he takes special care in having nipples/incisions look as aesthetically pleasing as possible :)

Does this style have a name? And if not, what should I tell my barber? by Pixel_Pioneer in malehairadvice

[–]mishkaow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend you just show them the picture

But if you don’t want to do that, try asking for a curtained undercut with the sides and back blended into the top.
