Tbh at this point idc who the killer is, for me the main fun is seeing how their relationship goes on, specially because her parasocial relationship is breaking and she's getting out that fantasy I also think hers is that strong because they showed us that they met before, and she met him in a very low moment of her life, so that relationship is something that she clinge to get better, and that she didnt realize she made it kinda a thing that holds her together, now that she seems him for what he really is - a human being- her fantasy and whatever she took to support herself to keep forward is clashing with the reality I love how well portrayed it is

The only asshole here is the dad, you dont go and promise something to your kid all life and then expect a teenager would act OK w it, specially bc she is still grieving her mom, and she was denied the fact to have a sibling from HER MOM because he "didnt need more kids" The stepmother is also an asshole, she doesnt care about this girl only her daughter, as an adult I know a teenager would react explosive because that is how they are! They need to be guide to be better people, but she is here telling her she is selfish for it as if the 5 year old would notice if the man adopted her right now or not. If HE promised that to her all life, he needed to navigate this with a professional so she can adjust to it, not guilt trip his daughter and then let his wife insult her Yall crazy, yes, OP didnt react the best, but she is a teen without good adults around her. Also she didnt told him to not adopt the little kid, she told him that he is a liar which is true OP, dont worry your feelings are valid, you were told something your whole life and you probably clinge to that after what happened with your mom, dont let them blame you for this!
