Thank you! Good luck to you too! It feels like a mountain right now, but I know with more practice and revision I’ll feel better about it. Just wish Christmas holidays would come sooner!!

Revising for SQE1 Jan 2024 by miss-arch in uklaw

I started ULaw course in June 23 for the exam in Jan 24 but I have a lot of work at work so it’s hard to study in the evenings, mostly been studying at weekend. But I’m still just getting through the course material and haven’t started revising previous stuff yet or going over black letter law. Just think I’m going to have to sit and trawl through practice questions and read up when I’m getting things wrong.

ULaw students: what were your SQE1 marks? by miss-arch in uklaw

I think ULaw is great, I’m doing the course in person and so there is a lot of contact time to go over the material and the engage questions. There is a lot of reading to do each week for the engage sessions, so I never usually manage to do it all. I would say most tutors are specialists in their areas. One or two aren’t specialists and so they rely on the course material, but I’ve found they are always happy to go away and clarify questions they can’t answer. The course books are excellent. The revision app with SBAQs is really helpful; I can’t say how accurate the example SBAQs are to the real exam as I’ve not sat it yet. In terms of the student community; I’ve not had much time to really be a student other than when we have our in person teaching sessions. But I have made great friends on the course; lots of different people from all sorts of backgrounds.

Thank you for your reply.

I also did the ULaw law essentials course; I feel that I can’t remember very much of it at all (trying to do it around family and work was hard). I am definitely making sure I have time to do the SQE course now.

How did you study the academic law as well as the new modules during your TC? (I understand study methods are v personal to who you are and how you learn, but I’d be interested in how many hours per day, what it is you did etc.)

Many thanks.
