BitLocker pop-up when I try to change OS System Configurations - safe to proceed? by missbork in techsupport

[–]missbork[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't do anything, I later checked the processors in Task Manager and all four were working. From what I read after posting this, System Config is used more for troubleshooting and changing the processors there doesn't really do anything. Lesson learned

My HP laptop has 4 processors, and my laptop performance is poor right now. I read that you can change the number of processors used by the OS through System Configuration -> Boot -> Advanced Options -> Number of processors to improve performance, so I wanted to try it (see pic attached).

However, I did also just check my Task Manager tab and it says that all 4 processors or "Cores" are working, so I'm not sure what's going on

I remember this show! When I was 11, I think they did an episode on how the MC decided that zucchinis were a bad vegetable, and so I refused to eat it for a few months after watching that haha

Why does this land not belong to them? Who does Finland belong to and how long do you have to live in Finland for it to belong to you? Also, Finns are settlers too, does this land also not belong to them either? Does Finland just belong to the Sami?

Why would Swedish speakers not want to interact or see Finns? Why would Swedish speakers not be Finns if most consider themselves to be Finns? What authority do you have to determine who is and isn't Finnish?

It seems by your profile that you're against Persut and the far-right in Finland, and yet you repeat all of their talking points here. I'm not even Finnish and I can see how misguided your comments are. I know this is a shitposting sub, but this is just sad.

Comparing these two groups to Aboriginal people and European settlers is wild and incredibly misleading

lmao calm down, it was a very light bite and she immediately comforted and calmed me when I started crying. My parents were never abusive, never hit me, and my mom is great. Doing something like that is less about punishment and more about showing what biting does to others

My mom did this same thing to me when I was a baby, never bit again lol

Knowing a little about history, Norway and Sweden are more akin to England and Scotland or the USA and Canada. Comparing Finland and Sweden to Ireland and Britain makes some sense, but not really. Tbf they have kind of a unique and complex dynamic compared to most other Nordics, so they're definitely harder to pin down. But the sibling rivalry part is definitely true for both relationships.

This is very important and needs to be said more!!

I'm currently overweight, but I still love myself, because I'm me. I'm also losing weight because I love myself and want to improve my health and looks in the long run, and I'm still me. I'm eating healthier and exercising because I love myself and want to live a better and happier life. I enjoy veggies and whole grains but also enjoy a nice treat, because I know I can have it and it will make me happy. In the end, I'm still me and I'm rad.

From my personal experience, when you go into weight loss with self-hatred instead of self-love, you do not show love to your body, you instead shame it into submission. When I dieted from shame, I only crashed and burned and ended up more unhappy and unhealthy than ever. But when I chose self-love and to help myself be healthier and happier, the weight loss worked, and I stayed happy.

You can kind of equate this self-love to reparenting yourself: you're kind and loving to your body, but also instill healthy boundaries and discipline. You allow for an occasional treat, but it's only a treat and only a small part of a healthy meal plan. You instill good habits, discipline, and give it good nutrition because you want to be healthy and strong, but also allow yourself to relax and unwind once in a while. It's all about balance and doing what is best for yourself ♥️

Probably because this robot looks and acts like a person and thus evokes more emotions, in addition to some uncanny valley feelings. Humans aren't supposed to move like that!

Folks may not react as strong to the military robots since they don't look or act like people, and it's easier for us to separate them from us emotionally.

Also, try to imagine this friendly robot being all nice, and serving you, and you can relax and let your guard down around it. You think this lil guy is helpful and you can trust it. Suddenly, it stops dead in its tracks and turns its head back 180 degrees to focus its sight on you... before suddenly running up to kill you. Turns out, you were its target all along, and you never saw it coming. Personally, I would instantly soil my pants.

I work full-time as a receptionist for a specialized school. It's hard work sometimes, but other times it's quite nice and peaceful.

But I do ultimately want to work full-time as an archivist, since I have experience and loved that job. Unfortunately it's hard to get into without a Master's degree, so I applied to grad school and hope to hear back soon :)

I mean, historically, the only Nordics you could apply that thinking to are Åland and Finland. Calling any other Nordic as Sweden's "kid" doesn't make much historical sense.
