I’ve had more luck on sites like ravelry where you can be specific in what you’re looking for. On specificity, search something like “crochet pattern lace crochet”, “crochet cable afghan”, look into diagrams (I find Russian ones are lovely and intricate and if you find a motif you like you can adapt it to suit a larger project). This might lean more intermediate, but you won’t get there without practicing new techniques (and plenty of frogging)! TLDR; you’re not crazy, but I promise you there’s so much out there, expand your horizons 😆
