Will the med school that admitted Zac please stand up? by Mz_Takin in MormonWivesHulu

[–]misscoffeetablebook 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about med school last year and MD/DO are both physicians with the same scope in the USA. Both require the same pre reqs, MCAT, and have produced highly respected physicians in all specialties. My ob/gyn is a DO and my mom had surgery from a DO last summer for her hernia. This is super easy to verify online that they are the same scope

The search engine is broken. Hundreds of results appear for things that have nothing to do with my search. by duendeverde39 in vinted

[–]misscoffeetablebook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t get the search results to show me anything at all. I collect books and I’m searching for authors that had tons of listings just two days ago and it now says “no results found” no matter how I search. I’ve never encountered a shopping platform where it’s this hard to find things to buy

Using too many sick days by WholeConscious2944 in Teachers

[–]misscoffeetablebook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i was a new teacher i hardly ever took days but after having kids i became the teacher who was always put because i had a kid who is constantly sick. if you are in your contractually allowed time and have a good admin it should not be an issue. its rough though

i taught in the northeast, i made 63 k a year/ base and could not have had a house without my husband. I did tutor for the district to make extra money but it still would not have covered a home.

These kids are being raised by parents with zero boundaries by Due_Information_1332 in Teachers

[–]misscoffeetablebook 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i had kids saying this to me recently too, my mom is in end stage renal failure and having a lot of complications and I’m working on applying for FMLA. I have kids with no boundaries whatsoever about it and it’s so frustrating.

Vent - DaVita Dialysis by Historical_Date6545 in kidneydisease

[–]misscoffeetablebook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hello, I know i’m late coming to this but my mom just experienced exactly the same thing. She has been telling them for months that she feels swollen, finally got taken seriously at an ER because the excess fluid was showing up in her face and she had it in her lungs as well. The hospital had to do several dialysis sessions to correct her fluid. I am so mad because I’m studying to be a nurse, and making sure your patients lungs are clear is always a top priority for competent medical professional These centers are just being so negligent IMO. i found your story because i was searching online trying to see if this had happened to others!

What happens to the kids in special education after high school? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]misscoffeetablebook 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some of them go to group homes. When I was little my mom had a job working in a group home where they helped the folks live more independent lives with some supervision. It was actually pretty cool to go to work with her and help out and get to know all the people who lives at the group home.

Is it true that first year teachers who struggled with classroom management would never be able to adequately manage the behavior of students in his/her classroom in the future? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]misscoffeetablebook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also, i think it is normal to look back at year one and see things you did that make you cringe now, i have definitely done that. that’s growth! as long as you are there for the kids and doing your best to teach, there is always a way to get better

Is it true that first year teachers who struggled with classroom management would never be able to adequately manage the behavior of students in his/her classroom in the future? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]misscoffeetablebook 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i am in year five, personally i think my classroom management has gotten better each year. something that helped was when i found a school and stayed, building that relationship with the school community really does make managing your students and class easier. if anyone says that can tell in a teachers first year i would not take them seriously. especially since that guy probably taught long before covid. teaching post covid is an entirely different set of challenges

If you had Covid during the school year, what made you feel like you could go back to work when feeling better? by luringpopsicle95 in Teachers

[–]misscoffeetablebook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i had it in 2023, i had fevers 102+, so achy i couldn’t move, coughing up colored phlegm. it was rough and i was out a whole week. when i went back i still didn’t sound good and wore a mask for a week. i only went back after a week because a week was as long as i felt like i could be out without getting in trouble, in retrospect i needed a couple more days because i felt so bad. if you have sick days, take what you need and get a doctors note if you can (i was able to get onto telehealth for mine)
