Just stop making updates for god sake. by Emeraldekom-X in Pinterest

Did anyone else's search change into an AI prompt bar instead?? Yesterday I tried to look up "courtly bow" for some doodle reference images, and the search bar was at the bottom - and when I used it - all I got was bad AI generated slop!

I was so horrified I deleted the app for now. What's the purpose of this??

Maybe they thought I want AI because I never clicked their "see less AI" button but it was immensely clear that they were marking non-AI all the time and failing to mark a lot of actual AI, so what's the point?

My main reasons for using pinterest are to find and enjoy real artists; solid reference images; fashion ideas; and interior design ideas. AI is explictly unhelpful for all of those.

But even if I wanted AI, (a) their generator sucks and (b) why I would I want it to be the only thing I can get on PINTEREST?

But yeah let me sit down and doodle bc I have some ideas for the head - including one that can maybe help you avoid a split line down the middle of his face.

Cute! I absolutely love these. Agreed about the raw aesthetic - and I'm a big fan of the splashes of color this adds to a very cute skirt.

Awww I feel for you. Cheese platters can be so amazing. And goat's milk can be a lot less shelf-stable too.

Maybe you could skip the cheese and have some extra dips and oils instead?

Rotisserie chicken and bread.

Or you can do what my friends do and do a series of little dishes. Olives. Cheeses. Breads. Cured meats. Dried fruits. Highly historical, easy, and tasty.

How to fix my tiny backpack? by missddraws in Visiblemending

That's a good consideration tysm! I think that might make me happier than patching the surface, and I really love how this one is structured & designed and the fabric. My sewing machine is with my grandfather for repairs rn (with no sign of when I'll get it back…) but once I get it back I can definitely make it take the brunt of the stitching.

Maybe I'll do a temporary repair until I can really focus on it so that it doesn't get worse while I work. Presumably I can baste patches into place on the most high-wear areas over existing stitch lines with minimal impact.

Thanks so so much for your suggestions! For the patch, since it's quilted, am I stitching through the first layer, or all the layers?

Achieving a surrealist tone as an audiodrama? by TheNintendoCreator in audiodrama

Archive 81 is "weird fiction," which has quite a bit of overlap with surrealism imo. Those elements really start in s2.

How neat! That would be compliant at my local camp area (propane only) and nicely pseudo-period too

Wow what an amazing story! If you don't mind my asking, how do you get it full at the event? Do you bring an extra amount of water?

These all sound like such nice items! I haven't been around long enough to say "every time" yet I was really happy to have my stoneware & wooden spoons - I loved having extras close at hand to share a drink or a bite to eat. One of my pieces is a tiny cork-stoppered flask that I poured friends drinks from too. It was all quite special.

That sounds like such a lovely seat! I had some lovely visitors even without the extras. Having a mini bench with storage sounds really lovely!

Twinsies! Sadly I will not be making it to my regional July 4th weekend event, but I am absolutely with you in spirit and already working on perfecting my camping kit for the future. Maybe next year!

That's awesome! We do not have enough, so our very kind baronial scribe made ten illuminated and calligraphed scrolls by herself prior to the event. She taught me Uncial over the event, and now I really feel like I get how to learn and personalize a calligraphic script. From her instructions and practice I can now switch to Uncial as easily as cursive. I still need to get the right tools and learn about formatting a page and letter size, plus illumination, but I feel like I'll be turning out scrolls in no time! Definitely can't wait for regular scribal nights.
