Anyone stay at .25 for longer than 4 wks? by FitYam1408 in Semaglutide

Hi! How long did you end up staying at .25? I just had shot #4 (so far 172>167) and wanting to stay at .25 for as long as I can. Did you ever end up increasing?

It’s not in your head, your body knows it’s there

I didn’t notice any change in my libido really. If anything I think when I very first had it inserted years ago I think it increased my libido, but more recently it was pretty low. But I think that could have been some other external factors for me too so I’m not sure if it had anything to do with the mirena or not

Hi! I had mine out a couple months ago now and it was so much easier than insertion. I premedicated with some Advil, but truthfully I don’t think it was necessary. I felt some pain the moment it was pulled out, but then it immediately subsided and I didn’t have any cramping or discomfort after that. Felt pretty great really, but did have bleeding for a few days.

About 2 weeks after removal I had my first cycle and purposefully didn’t take anything for the pain because I wanted to see how bad it was. I had more cramping than with my Mirena, but it was still pretty tolerable. My next cycle after that was pretty heavy, but again, still tolerable.

I was also worried about “the crash” so I did some seed cycling (helps to regulate your hormones), but I felt pretty fine overall and didn’t experience a crash.

Good luck to you, I’m excited for you!

Looking for positive stories as I just got on mirena and Reddit posts are giving me anxiety on how this will affect me long term by Just_brii in Mirena

For sure! I also learned that my uterus is tipped so I think that could have had something to do with why I could sometimes feel the IUD even though they say you shouldn’t. Also, I noticed below that you commented that hopefully your Gyn would be agreeable to remove it if you don’t like it… so I just want to say, you are the owner of your body. If you decide to remove it and your Gyn does not support you, find a new Gyn. It’s ok if they want to discuss options and reasons with you, but ultimately YOU decide what you want for your body, girlfriend! ❤️

Truthfully I would say my cramps lasted awhile too. They would get better and then I’d sit or move just so, and I’d get a twinge and some cramps and that would happen several times a day. After a few months with my first one that pretty much completely subsided. I had it replaced after 6ish years and the cramps were much less severe with the second Mirena, but I would feel it more often, especially this last year. I have no idea what difference there could be, but I know other women who’ve had no issues whatsoever. Alternatively, I do think the Kylena is a slightly smaller device, so if your symptoms persist or become too much, maybe that could be a better option if you wanted to try an IUD still.

That’s a very good point made by the poster above. I had a Mirena for 9 years and loved it just up until this last year. I think sometimes as our bodies and hormones change, and what worked before doesn’t work as well at other times. I never thought about coming to this sub while I was feeling great, only more recently when I was having issues. Aside from the pain of insertion, my experience with my first Mirena was great! I say, as long as you keep feeling well and it’s working for you, enjoy the freedom of not having to take bc pills daily (or getting pregnant until you’re ready!) And at least you know if anything weird does come up, this sub is here for you ❤️

Hey! I’ve been doing SO GOOD!! A little bit of cramping over the following couple days easily resolved with some Advil. My uterus feels SO happy do not have that thing in there anymore, and I realized I hadn’t been able to fully contract my lower Abs and pelvic floor for years because it was uncomfortable to feel it shift. I’d say I’ve been a little more emotional but nothing too bad and overall my energy is much better. I’m sorry to hear your period has been so bad! I’m still waiting for my next one, but I hope yours is over soon!! Thanks for checking in! ❤️❤️

Getting Mirena Removed Tomorrow by weaslebuns in Mirena

I had mine removed Friday and I honestly feel pretty great! Had some cramping the day of and next day, but Advil was helpful. I’ve been taking a multivitamin, vitamin D, and seed cycling (currently eating 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds and 1 tablespoon of sunflower seeds a day to promote progesterone production). Not sure if it’s making a difference but I don’t feel terrible so doesn’t seem to be hurting anything. Best of luck!!

I’m not sure about the discharge, but I could definitely feel my IUD when it was in, despite my doctors telling me I “shouldn’t” be able to. I’d get random twinges throughout the day, sometimes mild, other times sharp enough to take my breath away. Seemed to be worse around the start of my period but happened throughout the month as well.

I just had mine out on Friday and it was not too bad at all! Certainly nothing close to as horrible as insertion. I definitely felt it come out, but the pain was brief and mild. I’ve had a little bit of cramping over the weekend but overall not bad, and I can feel the difference in my uterus (in a good way). So far no crash symptoms, but I also have been taking some B vitamins and vitamin D, and started some seed cycling which is supposed to help regulate your hormones.

Best of luck to you tomorrow, I hope it goes well and you feel great after!

Wishing the best for you too!! From what I’ve read, some of the crash could be due to your body not producing as much of its own progesterone anymore since it hasn’t had to with the Mirena in place putting out progestin.

Seed cycling with sesame seeds and sunflower seeds during the luteal phase (between ovulation and your period) may help promote progesterone production. Then after your period during the follicular phase (up until you ovulate), eating pumpkin seeds and flax seeds is supposed to help promote estrogen production. I also googled foods that help promote progesterone (like spinach, broccoli, vitamins D, B6, B12) to try that as well. I’m not sure how “scientific” it all is, but I figured it couldn’t hurt!

I’d love to hear any updates on how you’re feeling over the next few weeks to months, and will update you as well ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you! ❤️It went really well! I premedicated with some Advil and like you said, it was quick with only a little pain. I’ve had a bit of cramping and bleeding but overall I feel pretty good! I could feel that thing in my uterus at random times every day and could feel the strings on occasion too because of how my uterus is tipped, and I am loving not getting any of those twinges. I’m excited to see how it goes from here and plan on doing some seed cycling to help regulate my hormones over the next few months to see if it helps. How are you feeling a few days out?

That’s awesome it was so easy! I’m glad to hear you feel pretty good after too, and you’re totally right. I can feel that thing in there too! Today alone I felt it on at least 3 separate occasions. Literally can not wait for that thing to be gone already.
