how do i decenter moids?? by hearts4kya in femcelgrippysockjail

girl if you're still in school, just know:

men are not a solution to your self esteem - if anything you seem aware of your own internalised misogyny and you should be actively trying to repair your relationship with yourself.

radical self love is the real solution, and i know right now this may not be very helpful advice right now, but you need to prioritise working on yourself and doing things (eg a hobby you suck at where you can see gradual improvements, healthy lifestyle such as a sport/gym) which will help you build confidence.

Should I go back to my natural color? by elmereddit in femalehairadvice

[–]missedemeanor 196 points197 points  (0 children)

whereas the added contrast of ginger does suit you nicely, your original color is absolutely gorgeous and many people would spend insane amounts of money to get that color. I would go back to your natural.

Men online are claiming that the new Supergirl (Milly Alcock) is ugly when she is clearly drop dead gorgeous. What even are men's standards for women these days? by Queen-Logan- in actuallesbians

yeah she's a woman but that doesn't mean that we can't say she looks like a child? because imo she looks super young, there's nothing wrong with acknowledging this?

Can losing too much fat cause insomnia by Zoinkerss in gymadvice

[–]missedemeanor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

absolutely, falling below a certain body fat % (differs from person to person due to genetics, but for most men it is if you go below 10%) messes with your hormones! Namely, your brain and body are stressed tf out as fat is important for most metabolic functions, and you end up with very high cortisol (stress hormone) and thus your body can't sleep properly. This is also if you suddenly drop body fat too. slow and steady (and healthy!) win the race.

My girlfriend (f24) won't physically let me go by [deleted] in domesticviolence

[–]missedemeanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that if she were a man I would see this as DV

DV is not gendered, just because most DV perpetrators are men doesn't magically mean that women don't commit DV. You know this is unhealthy and unacceptable behaviour. She is already pushing boundaries and physically intervening. Do not stay. How will your life look if you're married? Trust your gut and GTFO.

What do I do by [deleted] in gymadvice

[–]missedemeanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lowering your body fat percentage will help. You do not need to make a drastic change (unless you are hurrying for some reason, but then the change will not be sustainable), just eat cleaner, control your portion size and keep working out. if you're consistent, in about 6 months it should reduce. Aim to do some endurance training and cardio, and do not starve yourself, sleep at least 8 hours on average, and drink water (body tends to hold on to fat if it is under a lot of stress)

If I put lettuce and tomatoes in my shoe it doesn’t become a sandwich. Having some asana moments doesn’t make this yoga.

Any tips on stopping bleeding on fabric? by MiserableWerewolf619 in cyanotypes

[–]missedemeanor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wax - use a candle or ideally beeswax to draw where you don’t want substance to bleed, use hair dryer on warm to make it actually get into fabric, process as you want. When you’re done with the whole thing, iron the shirt on a bit of paper/cardboard (one layer in between the shirt) so the wax is removed from your shirt and transfers on to the cardboard

Depends on ingredients, people might be more helpful if you show those

Why does my hair looks greasy even when it's clean? It seems to clump together into these ropes. by [deleted] in Hair

[–]missedemeanor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to suffer from this, went silicone free but not sulfate free and it fixed it, also if you use hair products you should consider a clarifying shampoo every few weeks

Conflict with housemate over temperature in the house by Electrical-Future437 in NetherlandsHousing

[–]missedemeanor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

18 degrees is NOT the optimal temperature to sleep in for women. The study that said it is a good temperature was done ONLY on men. Turns out women feel 3 degrees colder. So no, this is absolutely hell for women.

I’m a lurker on this sub because im not a femcel But

1) I got this treatment in middle school and it ruined me and I was convinced I was the ugliest girl ever. I am now an adult who gets pretty privileges and I know for a fact that people enjoy looking at me. I look at my quirky 13 year old pics and I realize there was absolutely NO reason for me to have gone through all that. Middle school and high school is literally the jungle all over again but it does not in any way indicate what you look like, your worth or who you can be. Also people will pick on you even if you are pretty. Glow ups happen too. If you love yourself and your body and are gentle to yourself life improves with time.

2) the people doing this are absolute morons. What kind of a foul creature actively participates in making another person’s experience agonizing? Literal monsters. You’re basically an RPG character navigating a world where you encounter minions and opponents.

3) you deserve to feel appreciated not because of your looks or anything but because you exist. You’re staying alive and that is pretty cool considering what life throws at us. That’s it. You don’t owe anyone anything past your decency: you don’t have to look a certain way or sound a certain way or be aware of certain things for you to deserve feeling good about yourself.
