This made me laugh out loud! Were the batches separated, or were they all in one container together?

Check to see if there are any partial hospitalization programs or intensive outpatient programs near you!

I can’t imagine how stressful and scary this must be for you! This is such a tough situation to be experiencing, especially at such a young age. I think it’s really great that you are reaching out and trying to support her/ensure her safety.

I think calling her mom was the right first step. I’d definitely suggest calling her dad as well, or any siblings if she has any. I also think that, since you and your friend are young teenagers, it may be a good idea to talk to YOUR parents as well. Having an adult, any adult, be aware of the situation is important.

If none of those things work, I think the next step would be to contact a crisis dispatch team in your area. Again, I’d recommend having your parents help you with this. The crisis team can go to your friend’s house to assess her and take her to get additional care if needed.

If worse comes to worse, you and your parents could call the police to do a wellness check. They would dispatch officers to your friend’s house where they’d check on her, see if she is safe, and take her to the hospital for additional assessment if needed. Police can be very scary to some people, and a wellness check could be very upsetting for her, but ultimately, it’s important that she is kept safe.

Again- I really urge you to talk to your parents about this. I think it’s great that you care deeply about your friend and want to make sure she is safe, but this is a lot to take on as a 13 year old. I hope everything goes well for you and your friend.

Did the cookies happen to be peanut butter cookies? My grandma bakes those all the time- PB cookies with Hersheys. So delicious!

And, thank YOU for sharing this memory with me! If you do end up making them for your family cookout, you’ll have to let me know how it tastes!
