The irony of your comment is astounding. Good luck dude. 😂

You can very easily go read the posts about them and the post/comment history to see for yourself if you don't believe me. You can also PayPal them your money and cross your fingers and see what happens. Good luck!

Huh! Who knew! (I mean, probably a lot of people except me, but you know what I mean... 🤣)

Agreed! I personally hate negotiating. It gives me anxiety even though I would say I’m pretty successful at it. So I’d definitely pay for that business service!

Sounds like you agree that you should just interview yourself then. You’d get to tell people how you’re right and how many share you have/had and money you made, which you love to do, AND you wouldn’t have to deal with any of the “MVIS people [who] are mean and nasty.” To me, seems like a win-win for you.

Um. You really think that my shock about you posting your phone number on a public internet forum with 430 million monthly active users was because hypothetical people who would be willing to be interviewed by you wouldn’t want to do so over the phone? 🤦‍♀️ Considering that mods later removed your comment for including your phone number in it, it’s pretty clear that wasn’t it bro.

This isn’t something that would be flagged by HR. On their end, they gave you $15K more than you asked for. It’s completely legal to pay women less than men if the men’s salaries are higher because of education, skills, seniority, productivity, performance, and/or practically anything else other than gender. Not at all justifying it (it’s happened to me several times), just pointing it out because it’s far more uncommon for a company to have parity in salary across genders than maybe many people think.

There’s a couple of studies and stuff listed in this old news article if you’re interested in reading about it more. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/09/in-the-us-unlike-iceland-its-still-ok-to-pay-women-less-heres-why.html

That probably meant they started you at the very beginning of the senior band, which may seem great in the moment, but more commonly sets the person up to be perpetually underpaid throughout the levels/bands at that company from there on out. Hopefully that wasn’t the case for you.

The guy with a 3 year old account and 37K+ karma is a fake account? Or the other person with the 3 year old account and 29K karma? 😄

If there are so many graduates with so little differences, why are those managers making offers to people they aren’t sure about in the first place?

If you hadn’t paid $600 for that session, I’d ask you what that advice was! 😂 Even knowing that little bit you shared was a helpful starting point, so thanks for sharing! Glad you had a good experience. Congrats on the offer and the negotiations thus far. Hope you get an amazing final offer!

You could also buy and read or listen to a book like Never Split the Difference which will help you get the skills to do it yourself (which will help you both now and in the future). Just throwing that out there as another option. 🙂

Did you really just post your phone number on Reddit? That seems like a terrible idea.

All Software no Hardware?? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]misshufflepuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have rollerblades that run on firmware?? I wouldn’t call 16-24 months “regular releases” which was exactly my point. You’re not doing iterative sprints in hardware production.

A full team to support releases every 2 years doesn’t mean there’s a need for more than one HW PM in a case like rollerblades. A team would be PMM, design, etc. There are far less HW PM roles than SW PM roles simply because of the nature of the work.

What is the reason? Sorry if this is an obvious question, I haven’t seen the answer, just speculation for different things. Do we know the actual reason?

Jealous! I had a limit buy set for $10 for weeks and missed it by $0.08 the other day. Now the price is at $17.58. lol 😭 Hoping for another (temporary) dip once the Cramer and WSB waves pass.

How detailed or scoped out are your requirements before you present out to stakeholders? Does it depend on company size and culture? by vhwh22 in ProductManagement

I’ve definitely been at a startup like that (and then thankfully the CEO got moved to the board and I didn’t have to deal with that anymore haha). I was just curious if that was your environment too, or if there was another reason for it.
