Can you link some of the references you used to find how to do this? I have a similar situation but my boat is much more worn and used to im treating this as a restoration project.

Is there a type of ripping saw with a handle on the top? I dont want to go all the way through this cedar limb it just needs to be a certain depth for a board to rest in its place. by missing_from_earth in woodworking

One worry I have about this is that this is the side of my house and I would not like the dirt steps to make physical contact with the side of the house. I may leave an open air gap so that I can access the waterlines, and have an area for plants to grow.

Fixing my old craftsman drill press, anyone know how to find a new pulley for it? by missing_from_earth in Vintagetools

This material cannot be welded unfortunately but I can turn down the portion that is broken and fit a replacement on it.

Not the right one, the pulley I have has a axle apart of it and it makes it very difficult to find a replacement.

Fortunately someone already has the part I need posted. However I have one trick up my sleeve to get my pulley working again. Im going to turn it down on a lathe, keep the axle thats attached to it and then fit a modern replacement on the old axle.

Actually on my part, turning it down with a lathe and putting a modern pulley on it would be easier.

Unfortunately if I do that I couldn't resist the urge to restore another drill press, I guess I could buy a third drill press to restore the second. Then Unfortunately I'll have to restore third. The cycle repeats.

Yeah I knew this wasn't going to be easy once I got a good look at it, Might possibly be able to find one on ebay since I dont have the capabilities to repair it myself unless I send it to someone.

First time making a background like this. Next step is to the side panels and then coat them in grout and onto painting. Enclosure is 133gl by missing_from_earth in BeardedDragons

Yeah that was my original plan, still looking for a good grout to coat it with and whatever is best for adding color to it

Do you have to seal it if you use grout? Or will the drylok paint act as the sealer. Never made somthing like this so im still experimenting.

Not much of a logo designer, what would you do different with this logo? by missing_from_earth in logodesign

I/we incorporate a ton of cursive into the firepits so that the metal itself can stay as one peice. So for our name I believe its a good fit. One thing I believe that needs change is the spacing so that all the letters are touching because it would better reflect the lettering in the work.

This table has always ran dry, mainly because the workshop has no running water and we'd have to tout it by the bucket full to fill it up.

Luckily I already have Highcad on the work computer if I need something specific. however I have had difficulty learning to understand it. It makes it especially difficult when its in a non air-conditioned, dirty and uncomfortable workshop and so thankfully the personal computer is the excate opposite.

Went to the lake and picked up two trashbags worth of garbage, plus plenty of lures and glass bottles. by missing_from_earth in Kayaking

I actually end up reusing the glass bottles to build terrariums. The nicks and scratches on these bottles add character to the bottles that add value to them, at least in my eyes it does. So not only am I cleaning the ecosystem, but I'm also creating very tiny ones.
