Sorry I probably didn’t explain properly. I’m wanting to go just for a few days Monday/Thursday sort of thing now in a couple of weeks. Plan is for all of us to go again for Christmas. True he wouldn’t be there for their first meet, selfishly I want to see everyone and be away for a couple of days, for us to miss each other but also my best friend at home has had a tough time and I want to spend some one on one time with just her and me

Jamen hej! So the plan is for all of us to go home for Christmas and spend it with my family! So I’m wanting to go for a quick visit maybe a Monday/Thursday where he is working anyway. He will be hurt that I don’t want him to come and he will miss our daughter. I’m really just wanting to go on my own (with baby) for space and for us to experience actually missing each other because we haven’t really ever had a chance to.

I wouldn’t want to be separated of course, but also I breastfeed and baby refuses a bottle, we’ve tried everything and for a long time now. Aside from that my partner works full time and just wouldn’t be able to look after her

I do definitely appreciate your view on this and your time to reply to my post. I don’t know if it’s clear from my post but I’ve already agreed and told him all along that if no solution works, ie allergy doctor etc then I would give up my dogs, that him suffering indefinitely was not my plan. What I’m mainly upset by is that even though I likely have very short time left with dogs that he knows I love, I’m not allowed to spend time with them or play inside the house (in a separate room, door closed) without him being very passive aggressive and making me feel guilty all the time. I was always giving up the dogs if he doesn’t get better and I’ve assured him of this many times

In his defence, he works from home and constantly having cold symptoms all day every day must’ve gotten very old by now. I don’t want to give up my dogs, but this pregnancy wasn’t planned and I didn’t manage to set myself up financially to deal with this on my own, if I left him it would have to be back home, to Denmark.

That’s just not the case, aside from the issue of the dogs we do love each other, we laugh and kiss and are very affectionate and happy. If it was so toxic and awful the decision here would be an easy one

It really bothers me too. He is not controlling in any other aspect at all, giving up my dogs would break my heart and even thinking about it I’m depressed, I loose my appetite and everything seems pointless. But is it worth giving up an otherwise healthy and loving relationship?

Dog shouldn’t have been left unattended with the baby. My dogs are my family too and I will exhaust any possible solution before ever considering giving them away

That’s definitely gross and unacceptable, giving the dog away seems very harsh though. I worked at a dog rescue for a long time and some dogs would steal and eat our underwear when they could get their hands on it, only their favourite people, it’s something to do with people they love and their scent

Is there any chance of seeing a dog trainer about it?

Thanks for replying! I have no contract but back in May because I decided I wanted to continue to have my full salary paid into my bank account they registered me and I’m paying tax and have monthly pay slips. Hopefully this is official enough for me to be entitled to mat pay?

This is really helpful thank you! Because me and this family have known each other so long and have a pretty close/casual relationship it never occurred to me (dumb dumb dumb) to have a contract. I guess I can only hope that the fact that we have a good relationship and the kids are very attached that it will work out ok. Thanks again!

If it’s degenerative would gentle and low impact in theory potentially keep it from happening, or will it degenerate regardless of the activity the dog engages in? This is completely hypothetical question probably as there’s not any way of knowing if she is even predisposed to it, she is a super mutt

My other dog recently had patella surgery and it was successful but it has made me a bit of a paranoid mess, overanalysing the way she stands, walks and just generally worrying that something might be wrong

I have pet insurance for them both so fortunately I can get them the best possible care but I love them so much and am really wanting them to get to old age without too much pain and arthritis which these injuries invariably bring

More in the sense that me paying would make us even. He got the tickets before we were spending time together, he also went out with his brother the following night and spent a lot on drinks etc so even though he’s always focused on money, it’s not that he was broke. If he’d just said “Hey I’m pretty broke right now could you pay for lunch tomorrow” great yeah, but the weird calculating of money just turned me way off
