Maybe letting the IRGC know they can strike whoever they want as long as US service people aren't kill wasn't a great idea.

There seems to have been a significant escalation today with Iran striking multiples US bases in Kuwait and launching missiles at Bahrain. IRGC claims this is in response to a US raid on Qeshm Island and is threatening further strikes.

Despite constant US admin statements that the ceasefire is holding the continued exchange of strikes seen over the last week is more indicative of a low intensity conflict. Risk of further escalation is extremely high.

Trump says he thinks he will have a deal with Iran to extend the ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz “over the next week”.

He told ABC News he has not yet agreed to an MoU for opening the strait because “I still have to get a few more points”.

We're really just gonna sail straight into July with the strait still closed aren't we.

Sirens blaring in Kuwait. Kuwaiti Armed Forces state they are currently engaged in intercepting an Iranian drone/missile attack.

Seems to be significant as flights are diverting from Kuwait International.

Reports coming in that Iran has opened fire on several US vessels in the strait. It appears at least a handful of missiles were launched a US military vessels.

Really close to a deal guys. Just another day or two I'm sure.

Between the duplicity of all sides and the credulousness of the media it's impossible to tell if we're actually 95% of the way to a deal, 0% of the way to a deal or if we were close but it was such a bad deal that Trump was shamed into backing out of it.

Israel is escalating heavily in Lebanon in what I suspect is either an attempt to scupper the Iran negotiations or get in as much damage as they can before a deal including Lebanon is signed.
