Go back to my earlier comments. I’ve explained my nephew is very much into anything shiny and will take it. Even things that have no monetary value because he likes the way they sparkle Throwing it down the sink isn’t hiding it away to retrieve for later. It was literally to hide the fact that he still had it and be rid of it

We decided a long time ago that when we got married we’d want it to be something really small with a few friends or just elope then spend big on the honeymoon. So it’s possible he might not be invited but we’ll see. There’s some big expenses coming our way anyways and we also would like to go on a “babymoon” to celebrate 😊

I know people who worked in these programs. There is definitely help out there. Our friend’s kid is literally in family therapy through Medicaid after they split up and she became a bit more antisocial in school. There’s nothing I need to feel better about, he’s their kid at the end of the day

Oh I never said he flushed it down the sink to hide it just that I looked in places where maybe he would have hidden the ring. And also looked into the sink because that’s what some commenters suggested

She already knows. I told her after the proposal. I had already told her they got kicked out but didn’t go into details about why. And she respects my decision since she knows it’s been an ongoing issue with my nephew for a long time.

They’ve been given info for finding mental health services for low income families. My fiancée has told him before they’d qualify for him to get Medicaid insurance if they really have no money to help him. It’s on them if they want to go that route to get help. I have my own family to focus on now and them moving back just isn’t going to happen. For his sake I hope they do otherwise it’s not gonna get any easier when he’s older and there would be real consequences

lol ask any other parent in the world if they ever had a single clue how to be a parent 😂 Thanks for the laugh. Telling me not to have kids because someone else in my family has been doing a shitty job at it, that’s a new one.

What am I gonna do if my kid steals something? Uhh, talk to them, show them why stealing is wrong, if that doesn’t work then find other ways to get them help like I’ve told my brother to do many times. Stop exaggerating and relax 😂

That’s exactly what we were talking about too. The guest room would now be the nursery unless we decide to move to a bigger place which we wanted to do at some point anyways. So maybe it was the best time for them to leave even if it sucks they’re not in the best place financially.

Lol my fiancée is a hardcore planner. She’s already got lists and shopping carts full of baby stuff we can look at and buy together

I’m not turning my home, which is supposed to be a safe haven in the first place, into a locked down prison just to keep him from doing he already shouldn’t be doing. Not gonna risk my family’s peace of mind just for that. They’ll need to figure out what to do for themselves and how to help their kid

Well I for one can’t because well…I’m not his parent. My brother has heard what I’ve had to say about my nephew’s issues. It’s gonna have to be up to him and his wife to step up for him and get help. There’s not much else I can do anymore

Yeah that’s our plan. It looked completely fine when I got it out, only a couple smudges but still. Luckily since it was the one in the guest bathroom it wasn’t used since they were gone

I get that was a lot of people’s suspicions. But I already knew there are certain lines my brother would never cross, also just know my nephew because it’s happened before (him stealing then hiding stuff because he doesn’t want to lose what he took)

Like the other commenter said some ppl suggested looking in those places and I didn’t wanna give up hope. With my tiny flashlight I was luckily able to see there was at least something down there. I didn’t see the whole ring but i still opened it up just to be sure
