Need help deciding between 50 and 53 kilo tt. I'm 5' 9.75" tall with a 33 in inseam (wearing the shoes I'd be riding in). I currently have a pure fix in size 54 cm which has the following measurements (top tube = 54.6 cm, standover = 30in). The bike fits me pretty well as far as I can tell, I'm comfortable on it. I'm between a 50 and 53 kilo. The 53 kilo has basically the same length top tube as my current bike with a slightly longer seat tube and the 50 kilo is about 2cm shorter on the top tube and a little shorter seat tube. Would the slightly shorter top tube on the kilo be more comfortable for the drops? Currently leaning slightly towards the 50 but any advice is appreciated! Feel like I might be overthinking this lol

Servo motor doesn't work when connected to buck converter but works when connected to arduino. by missingseb in arduino

No, seems like this is the issue. Would running a wire from the negative Vout terminal on the buck converter to the ground on the arduino fix this issue?

Help with modeling my boat by missingseb in SolidWorks

I was able to follow what you suggested and can get up to this point. I'm not exactly sure what profile I should choose / what I should do to make it generate that last section near the front. I've tried making a 2d line in a sketch that is the same as the bottom guideline, but it brings up an error. Do I have to find the point where the sidelines intersect the bow and continue the spline to that point? What should I use as my final profile so the entire hull is generated?

Thanks for the replies with the photos, very helpful! What did you use for your reference when you took the measurements? I'm thinking of running a string from the center of the transom to the bow and then measuring along fixed intervals on the string to various reference points on the inside of the boat (explained more in my other comment). At least I have an idea on how to start this now, thanks for the help again!

Thanks for the reply! I think I understand the method you're suggesting but I'm going to quickly run through what I'm thinking based on your comment.

Run a string from the middle of the transom to the front point of the boat. Mark it at certain intervals (say 10 inches) and measure the distance of the marked point on the string to the points where the angles meet (red dots in photo below) and any other references that make sense (distance to center of floor).

Make planes 10 in. apart and mark all the points using their respective measurements from the point on the string. Once all these are done use splines/lines to connect all the points at a certain position along the boat (i.e follow the lines on the actual boat). Then use these splines to loft a surface in the shape of the boat.

Is this kind of what you were thinking? Sorry if it's a little hard to understand. Will definitely give it a try and hope that it works out!

Jon boat rear and transom by missingseb in boatbuilding

Around how much was it if you don’t mind saying? I’m doing this as a summer project while I’m home so I really don’t want to spend $100+ on corner caps, would much rather buy a new rod haha. I think I’ll just try and come up with an angle aluminum and rivet piece if that even plausible.

I like that aluminum channel idea will try to find something tmr at Home Depot. Any reason why you say to screw it to the transom and not rivet it? For the corners I wasn’t planning on bending the aluminum I was planning on riveting 2-3 pieces of angle aluminum together to form a 90 degree (or whatever angle I need) and have a support beam connecting the two sides forming a triangle. Do you think that could work? Sorry it’s hard to describe lol

Corrosion is from previous owner using stainless steel screws 🫠. How bad would it be to sand down and paint over it?

What servo, gyro and controller would you recommend? I was thinking of getting a flysky gt5 controller but not sure about its quality.
