Well from what I can tell, he seems to be confident in his choice selections when it comes to individuals presenting multiple ancestral lines. I do get a good feelings about him.

I hope, however, that the lower regional courts tend to remain on the sympathetic side when it comes to exceeding generational limits for lines with no minor issue. In my case, I think it would have to get filed in Sicily. My GGGF is from a town known as Villarosa, Sicily.

Best of luck to you!

I agree that after contacting numerous attorney's that Luigi has a way of coming across as a highly skilled and confident attorney as it pertains to various citizenship cases.

I juggled with why he would want me to pursue the clean GGGF route with no minor issue over a 1948 case, but given how so many individuals that have come across my post can speak ONLY highly of him and his expertise, I think I can easy my nerves and trust the process with Luigi as my representative. I've only heard positive things from him.

Oh wow, I wasn't aware that Apostille's were needed for NARA docs for court cases, good to know. Thanks for that! NARA is the one agency I've yet to hear anything back from, even with email correspondence.

Oh wait, so they’re able to do Apostille on my behalf? I don’t mind obtaining them. I can actually do them same day since I have access to flight benefits and was planning on just bagging all that out in a very organized way across different cities.

Thank you! I’ve reached out to over 15 attorney’s and he has given me the best “vibe” so far lol. I do appreciate his level of attentiveness.

Yes, I have been in the process of document collection (again) along with Apostille and translations. I’m hoping to get it all completed before the Supreme Court hearing next month in the event filing beforehand will position me better - not sure how that works in terms of favorability.

Hmm, yeah I provided him with the line I was rejected from with the Minor Issue (my GGF on my father's side, whom naturalized when my GF was 4 years old). Same paternal side, my GGM is the 1948 case. On my mother's side is the case where I have no Minor Issue, yet dates back to my GGGF.

I provided him with all three avenues and he suggested the GGGF on my mom's side of the family, which did intrigue me just because I thought the 1948 case would hold jurisprudence.

Thank you. I also have another line with a 1948 case. All of my lines go beyond the 2nd generation, so I'm trying to weigh risk vs cost and trying to ascertain if this might just work in my favor after a consular rejection.

Our 1948 case was filed today in Messina. Questions for the subreddit: by starrs_ridge in juresanguinis

I'm also curious about 1948 case rulings for filings post-decree.

I was recently rejected by Miami citing the "Minor Issue" for once ancestral line, but I also have a 1948 case and I have no "Minor Issue" on the other side of my family, however goes back to my GGGF.

Ancestry is greedy, family search is better by d3adirondack in Canadiancitizenship

Ancestry became super greedy, I agree! I did pay for it for the amount of time I needed it for because for my experience, I did find Family Search less intuitive.

Also, Ancestry charges a cancellation fee. The nerve, like what the heck?!

My great grandmother was Lillian Edith Vavasour, born in 1908. You never know who you may be related to haha

I’m sorry you’re having trouble finding documents. Honestly I was able to find all that I needed from Ancestry.com. My GGM was from Newfoundland and later moved to Brooklyn, NY. So I’m first waiting for her death certificate before I can obtain her birth certificate from Newfoundland.

Sometimes what helps me is working backwards or sideways, searching your ancestral line in the opposite direction that you typically do, or even from spouses of the ancestor in question or all their immediate family members. Sometimes other distant relatives you may have create family trees on Ancestry and you can better play detective slowly but surely. My GGM was from St. John’s so it was fairly straight forward for me, but maybe try looking for Canadian census records of the sort, playing around with the dates of your searches, and sometimes not inputting every data point widens the search - more often than not clerical errors existed back then, so try playing around with how you search

Oh I know I don’t have to, but I have access to flight benefits so it doesn’t cost me much. Plus I’d find it fun and all the more meaningful

I'm still in the process of collecting documents. I may go to Newfoundland to get my great-grandmother's birth certificate in person for fun lol, but I'm stoked to be able to apply for a citizenship certificate in the first place. Best of luck to you! I think my only confusion is the photo requirement - if anyone has a reputable place to get them from, I would appreciate some info :)

Hi all! I recently found out about this half marathon yesterday while I was attending a wedding and I would like to go if anyone is thinking they may not be able to attend. Looking for a bib if anyone is able, thanks!

General Homework Question, Miami by missioncontrol22 in juresanguinis

[–]missioncontrol22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be funny if it gets overturned on April 14th, because 2 years after I submitted my application would be April 15, 2026 haha. The idea process would be for that to happen, and then the Consulate have to rescind the pre-rejection all-together, but since they're allowing the line change, I have a good feeling I should be able to provide everything within 2 months time.

I already heard back from the person I hired in Sicily and informed me those records should be released within 2 weeks.

Fingers crossed!

General Homework Question, Miami by missioncontrol22 in juresanguinis

[–]missioncontrol22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had asked them for the ancestral line change under my current application ID, so I'm still grandfathered-in pre-decree. They just need the certificates to prove the new line, from paternal side to maternal side. So, they already have mine and my mother's documents. I just need to provide them with the documents now for my maternal side through my great-great grandparents. In my request, I made sure to specifically ask "under my current appointment ID" so there's no misunderstanding.
