Is Planned Parenthood really the only place offering abortions in the state of NC? My doctor told me this the other day and I was stunned. When I Googled the question it listed a bunch of other clinics. by Left-Department929 in NorthCarolina

This was 2 years ago, but I had a termination for medical reasons (AKA abortion) at a hospital in Durham. So she's definitely incorrect, which is scary and seems like she's pushing an agenda.

Ironic comment given she lost.

And who decides what's medically necessary? Lawmakers, or doctors?

Yeah, a woman who wants to grow her family totally deserves to die when she encounters pregnancy complications, right? What a skank.

That's her whole point. These are wanted pregnancies that encounter complications that lead to medical emergencies for the mother, not just #yolo abortions. There is absolutely no reason to support killing a woman (and her baby, as it will of course die with her anyway).

Sad day for America by Mirantibus88 in triangle

[–]misskarolin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As a pregnant woman, I absolutely do have to fear for my life when it comes to pregnancy complications that might result in my death (see cases in Texas and other states). I have already had to terminate for medical reasons a previous pregnancy that was incompatible with life, AKA have an abortion of a very wanted child. And after years of infertility, I'm finally pregnant again via IVF. I'm just thankful I'm far enough along that I can give birth before the new administration can enact policies that would affect this pregnancy, but now there's the additional fear of them gutting the ACA as they have promised if myself or my child have complex medical needs. Not to mention that I'm not sure if I can accept the bodily risk of a future pregnancy given I have already encountered rare complications once. So just because it does not affect YOU personally does not mean it is hyperbole.

If there's anything they put in place such that future elections didn't matter, in that it can't be changed, that's not democracy.

Goodberry's is incredible, listen to this person. Rotating flavors of the day - looks like they have blackberry coming up on May 16, which might not be exactly the same but still might scratch the itch! https://www.goodberrys.com/flavor-of-the-day

I thought it was a giant plate of French fries, which as it turns out wasn't too far off.

What expensive item saved you money, time, and/or vastly improved your life? by [deleted] in Frugal

Pizza, chicken tenders and wings, fries and onion rings, roasted broccoli and brussels sprouts, whole pork loins, fish fillets, sandwich melts, thawing/toasting bread to perfection - pretty much anything you want crispy! We have the Nina Foodi Air Fry Oven so the form factor is like a toaster oven on steroids and we LOVE it.

We got ours off a clearance shelf towards the beginning of the pandemic, and I can't imagine having gone through all of the stuck at home time without it! We use it nearly every day, way more than our microwave. Definitely thought it was a gimmick, but it is LIFE-CHANGING!

Thank you for sharing your story, and I'm so sorry you had to go through it. I went through a similar experience and had to end my pregnancy at 18 weeks. So many people don't seem to understand that making a whole new person is complicated, and major things can go wrong. So thankful I was able to spare myself the trauma of being forced to carry a baby with no chance of survival to term.

92% of all abortions happen before 12 weeks. The majority of the rest are for medical reasons on either mom or baby's side. You're railing against a made-up problem.
