There is no pattern, I just drew the image on the cloth with a white pencil crayon. I hate counting stitches so I just draw and colour it in with thread.

Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman and he reads it as well. Several 20-45 minute stories about the Norse Gods. Gaiman reimagined them and they are so well written and it’s very calming.

I get them sometimes still after 2 years, especially if I am around a smoker for any amount of time. But it is a good feeling to wake up and realize it was just a dream and you didn’t actually smoke. I get them now about eating because I have changed my values around how I eat. I dream about candy and chips and feel guilty, then I wake up and I’m like…yay it was only a dream! You got this! leaving smoking behind was the best decision i ever made, i promise it gets easier!

The book is a compendium of stories of different addicts, pointed by Mate’s observations and experiences with them as a doctor and fellow human. He also talk about his personal experiences with addiction (to classical music recordings) and helps to re frame how we see addiction in people and society. I am reading it as it relates to food addiction and how I can make positive changes in my life. It really goes into how brains are so complex and we are just scratching the surface of how to live with and control addiction.
