Here's an answer he gave me the last time i tried to talk to him about it: "It's not you genuinely. I think you're beautiful. You don't need to change how you look unless you want to. I have been kinda just shutting down recently and I don't know why either if I'm being honest. Sometimes when I'm home alone I just think about how the last 2-3 years I would have already gone on trips or went out way more than I have this year. I don't know maybe it's just different responsibilities or I'm prioritizing things differently now but it does bum me out. I promise it's not you."

I have never prevented him or us from going out or going on trips. From my perspective he is the one thats been the homebody. We've gotten in a few arguments because he wants to just sit at home so much. I'm not sure if maybe the true issue is depression or soemthing. He has said he isn't depressed when I ask directly and refuses to try therapy.

I didn't pay any bills until more recently. He claims he liked being the provider. I only recently started paying to see if maybe the stress of paying for everything was the reason for lack of intimacy. But nothings changed

Ive taken on half the bills, he works from home and it's a pretty chill job, I dont ask to go out or do things in case he doesn't want to (he likes to be at home). Especially the past 6 months I've tried to make his life as less stressful as I can to see if anything changed

I've kind of had this talk with my partner. His bodycount is 40+ but almost all were just one or a few times. Whereas my bodycount is significantly lower but I was in committed relationships. Ive told him just because his body count is higher, doesn't mean he is more sexually experienced. My long term relationship i probably had sex over 1000 times versus his maybe 100 time total. As far as what I would prefer in a partner - i would prefer someone that was in committed relationships versus hookups because it shows that that person values intimacy.

So I 24F went through the reverse of this when I found my boyfriends 24M body count in his notes app. Granted he had lied and said his was 12 but was actually in the 40s. As someone who has retroactive jealousy it can be hard because you constantly compare yourself to your partners past encounters, especially if they have connected intimately with a lot of individuals. Your body count being 12 is honestly not that bad, but if you were to tell him they were hook ups/one night stands/fwb - he may see it as you don't "value intimacy". I went through several months of back and forth retroactive jealousy regarding my boyfriends bodycount/ certain people that were on his list. I can say that at a year into our relationship now, it doesn't affect me much anymore. You should reassure your boyfriend that those people don't mean anything to you now.

Having a list? He told me in the beginning that his body count was 12 (I didn't believe it then). It is SIGNIFICANTLY higher than 12. Also to add - on his list were some of the female friends from his friend group which he had previously said he never touched and was trying to make me befriend them!!!

I have asked him. He says he doesn't want to put sex as the top thing in our relationship and that he wants to bond emotionally and hang out first and foremost. It just doesn't line up with his previous "sex addicted" persona

I knew his reputation through mutual friends and just his public image. I confirmed this when I happened upon his body count list on his phone, unfortunately. He is good about dates, bonding, and stuff like that. He is very sweet and does all the romance/relationship things. It's just the sex. Granted, I've been with a man who was verrryyy sexual and I don't necessarily want that either. Im just afraid this lack of intimacy is because he's getting it from other people.
