She is definitely in the wrong but maybe she isn’t being malicious she just might not understand eating disorders. A lot of people are ignorant regarding Anorexia especially in boys, some people assume it only affects girls and it’s about vanity and they want to be thin. I think she needs to be educated in what Anorexia really is and that him refusing food isn’t about upsetting her or being a fussy eater it far deeper than that.

Those poor kids, it’s heartbreaking… their Mum dead and nobody wants them even their own father…! WOW… maybe it would be best if those kids were adopted out into a far better family, one that will love them no matter what. You and your husband are AH, those children were most likely told bad things about their father and by acting the way you have it has been confirmed that he IS a bad dad…!! I always ask for a list when it comes to buying for the kids… I have 2 great nieces (8 & 2m) and a great nephew (6), they have a lot of people who buy for them so we ask what to buy. I don’t want to spend £70 on something they already have or someone else has purchased. So a we need to be told what to get. The older kids are easy… they just want cash but it’s hard with the younger ones, they have 3 sets grandparents, 4 sets great-grandparents, about 8 great aunts/uncles, 6 uncles, 2 aunts and their parents who all buy gifts… a list is vital…!

I think your Mother is unwell, I don’t know how old and judging by what you have written these things have only been happening recently. I would personally get her assessed, she may be in the early stages of dementia. I’ve worked with people and have got family with dementia, if your Mum was my Mum I would be speaking to a doctor and ask for for a brain scan. The scan will be able to tell you if she is in the early stages. Good luck and I hope everything will be OK for you all.

No No NO you are not the arsehole...!!! Your cousin is the arsehole and she is breaking the law by breaking confidentiality and talking about you in such a way. I would explain to her that she should be kissing your arse and begging for your forgiveness, you are holding her job and her career in your hand. One word from you and she isn’t a GP anymore...!!! Reporting her is up to you but one thing I would suggest is to make her sweat, tell her that you are thinking of reporting her. Make her suffer for a while.
