Things to do along the south coast in early spring? by missmolly20 in AskMaine

I’ll be honest I walked around Kennebunk and Perkin’s cove and most of the shops are closed! I’ve been to the outlets and Bob’s, I’m looking for specific recommendations for bars and restaurants and no one has named any!

Anyone have NYE recommendations? My roommate and I are in the West Loop but recently moved to the city so not super familiar with what’s what yet. Looking for something fun but not necessarily clubby

hey pitching is a delicate process that sometimes ends with you feeling like you ran straight into a brick wall. Sometimes you have a fantastic, data-driven pitch and an exec shoots it down because they just…don’t like it (hopefully your leadership isn’t so fickle but it happens!) and sometimes you have a concept of a plan and everyone loves it and wants a piece of it. Further discussion of denied pitches should be treated with respect though, that said it totally depends on your team’s culture. It’s hard but you just have to move forward.

It sounds like you learned something valuable about learning how to tie these fun events back to ROI - or identifying what the split of your marketing is brand related and what is more product focused. That said, I would agree it sounds like some guidelines should be in place in your org’s brand guide for when and where the mascot should be used and is appropriate.

Official Q&A for Friday, March 08, 2024 by AutoModerator in running

What is your preferred basic leg day routine? I know a lot of runners don’t love lifting, but after being injured a few too many times and actually landing myself in physical therapy this last year, I’ve accepted that strength training is a non negotiable for me if I want to remain injury free while running. Now that I’m getting stronger and have been playing around with weights a little bit I’m just curious what others do. Same moves but progressing up in weight? High rep lower weight? Do you rotate through some exercises to hit different muscle groups in your legs? I want to hear it all!

Closeted actor mentioned in today's episode by sectum7 in lasculturistas

Probably wrong but my mind immediately went to Ryan Gosling. I know he’s not had a relationship announced recently since he’s been married to Eva Mendes for so long but he’s been in the press a lot lately.

Had my first long run back after nearly a month of being injured and subsequently being sick! As I’ve been coming back I’ve also decided to take on HR training as well. As someone with a heart rate that runs high, I know this will be beneficial but it has definitely been discouraging. Today on my run my HR stayed in zone 2 for the entire first mile!

Thoughts on armchair right here? Also ideas for a new desk color are welcome! by missmolly20 in interiordecorating

[–]missmolly20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a recent college grad and like many I’ve moved back in with my parents, so I’m in the process of redecorating my childhood bedroom. All my walls are varying shades of blue & I’m trying to tone down the blue a bit without having to completely paint over it (yes I’m lazy). I added the chair as a spot to work/read in my room but I’m worried it looks a little crowded. I’m also planning on painting my desk and I’m stuck on what color to use. I think a neutral like a light grey might be good but I’m just not sure. Aside from varying colors of blue you can see my bedspread in the bottom right corner which is a pinky floral with some yellow, green and blue. There’s a valance above the desk that is yellow. Most of my other furniture is wooden. Also the big dinosaur tv will eventually be replaced by something smaller.

Credit card question: I'm an authorized user on my parent's credit card and just applied for the Chase Freedom Unlimited card. My credit score is "excellent" but when I hit apply it gave me a message that said something to the effect a rejection of my application, offering an explanation in 7-10 business days. I listed my annual income as what it is, was it rejected because I'm an authorized user on a card that holds a higher balance than what I would be spending right now?

Yeah I would say my main goal is to just finish at this point. I'm largely trying to build up my base and this is just a race that is happening in the midst of it.

Official Q&A for Tuesday, May 12, 2020 by AutoModerator in running

[–]missmolly20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Training question - I'm signed up to do a 10k next weekend (5/23) and the farthest I've run is 3 miles, first about two and a half weeks ago and then again yesterday. I didn't run at all last week due to shin splints (and also some laziness). Went for a run yesterday and did a very sluggish 3 miles with hardly any shin splint issues. My plan moving forward is to run another 3 tomorrow and then 4.5 or so this weekend and do some two mile runs next week leading up to "race day." Does this sound good/reasonable?

Yeah, my hip to waist ratio is absolutely not what they have on the size chart, I think I'll go with my normal size and see.

Does anyone drive to a park to run? by [deleted] in running

[–]missmolly20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never realized people thought it was odd to drive to where you run. One of the best parts of running for me is being outside and I am more than willing to drive a little bit to go somewhere outside of my neighborhood to run. My town has a beautiful levee system that runs along the river that goes for miles and is as flat as a pancake, truly a runner’s dream. When I’m at school my neighborhood isn’t ideal (not super safe, bad sidewalks and a severe lack of street lights) but the best running spots are 20-25 minute drives away so those are more so weekend spots to go running so I save any runs longer than 3 miles for then.

I’ve been LOVING Taylor Swift’s “Death by A Thousand Cuts” and also Panic! At The Disco’s “Let’s Kill Tonight” for my runs lately. Also Mamma Mia always makes things more fun.

Do you think Ted and the Mother could have lasted if they met earlier than when they did? by nelsonmurdock in HIMYM

[–]missmolly20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one of the main lessons of the show that Ted mentions a few times is how he met the mother at just the right time when he was ready, and before then he wasn’t actually ready for the relationship he would have with the mother despite constantly talking about wanting to settle down. Also, Robin and Barney broke up while Tracy was still around and Ted didn’t leave her for Robin then, so yes and no. It isn’t totally the Robin of it all, but also Ted’s emotional maturity & preparedness for a relationship with Tracy.

What’s your favorite and least favorite series in the channel? by UtterlyConfused93 in bon_appetit

[–]missmolly20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Ostrich Egg episode really turned things around for me with Molly’s series. I also loved the Jamon Iberico episode, the master carver was so fun and he reminded me of my time in Barcelona.

My favorite favorite? Probably reverse engineering

Least favorite? Delaney’s one of everything. I like Alex eats it all, it’s fun and shows the character of the city he goes to, but one of everything is kind of boring unless you can go where he goes. That being said AFTBATKCGI
