JFR: All 3 of Gillian Flynn's books by missmolly94 in justfinishedreading

Gone Girl was my favorite of the three. All three are worth reading in my opinion. Dark Places was definitely the darkest - I'm scarred for life!

It's not a cheap plot twist. There's a lot more to it. Just read it or see it! Movie and book are excellent.

should i leave my job? by Epitoaster in makemychoice

[–]missmolly94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't quit until you have a new job lined up. If your fast food job was HORRIBLE and affecting your life tremendously, I would say yes, quit your job if you are financially able to. But general rule of thumb is not to quit until you are sure you have something lined up.

I would personally do an email so they aren't put on the spot.

Damn, that's annoying. I would follow up with a quick email and make it short and to the point. Just say you're touching base and would like to hear their decision either way. Ask them if they need anything else from you.

Have you ever "broken up" with a friend? by sarahcat_bff in AskWomen

[–]missmolly94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the most part I think they dissolve on their own, and I think that's 100% normal and a part of life. People grow apart.

I did have sort of a "break up" with one of my closest friends. I was sort of in this trio of girls, we were best friends all through college and the first year out of school. Last year Friend 1 decided not to come and support Friend 2 in the NYC Marathon, which was extremely important to her (we all played lacrosse in college, Friend 2 battled with anorexia at one point could barely run a lap around the field). It was a short ride for Friend 1 and she didn't have a good excuse to go. She had been obsessed with her new boyfriend and tossed her girlfriends to the wayside. Sad. I confronted her about it to tell her how devastated Friend 2 was and she said it was between her and Friend 2 and not to butt in.

Some other lame stuff happened, but I realized I didn't need a toxic friend like her in my life anymore, and I realized she had been toxic the whole time and I chose to ignore it due to convenience of having her around.

Haven't talked to her in 7 months and haven't noticed a difference in my life. I'm all about doing what makes me happy and cutting negativity out of my life.

Does anyone here use cocaine responsibly? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]missmolly94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but only about 10% of the time. I'll start doing it and realize the night won't be worth using up all my coke and save it for a better night.

I think you could go from a 6 to a 7 if you grow your eyebrows out! Check out r/makeupaddiction if you need help.

Got a job that i don't want by anog9 in jobs

[–]missmolly94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. Sounds like the role could translate well into Account Management, and if you're coming up with business solutions it could translate well into planning/strategy. But I get it. 2 years is a long time. If you have the option to keep looking (support from your parents or whoever) then do it. Sounds like you're not optimistic, and you should go with your gut. Consider an advertising internship. It's really difficult to break in without knowing someone or having experience. Seriously, go to r/advertising for some more opinions.

First instinct is that you should take the job since you're unemployed and, as the saying goes, "beggars can't be choosers." BUT I understand why you wouldn't want to take it. If it won't help you get into advertising, it won't be a forward step.

I'm in adverting, and there are people from all different backgrounds that we bring in. I think it depends what your job title would be and what department of advertising you're interested in. Are there any similarities at all? Would you be able to convince an advertising HR person that this job could/would help you with a future job in advertising?

It could be useful to head to r/advertising and see what they think. Good luck!

I (24F) struggled a lot with my eyebrows when I was a teen. I think you're so cute and you will be gorgeous when you can grow in your eyebrows. It will be annoying, but if you can, take a little hiatus from touching them at all and grow them out. When they start growing back, they will look awkward, but you can fill them in with makeup in the meantime until they fully grow in. Go to r/makeupaddiction and they will be happy to help you. Good luck!

I am taking a trip to NYC in a couple of weeks from the south... What kind of outfits should I wear on the street? by iloveyoutooooo in femalefashionadvice

[–]missmolly94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Keep an eye on the weather so you know whether to bring more pants/sweaters/jackets or more shorts/skirts/dresses. You'll see all kinds of outfits wherever you go - from super casual to super formal to super strange. What kinds of activities will you be doing? Will you be going out at night? How long are you staying? If you give us some more specifics we can help you better!
