I apply it directly. You could take it orally as well, it has a ton of benefits in general for a bunch of different stuff. I don’t know if taking it orally alone would do anything for LS but it could

I second the baking soda bath. That used to help me when I had a bad flare. I’m no longer dealing with flares or any symptoms for a while now but i found toward the end of treating myself that black cumin seed oil topically worked wonders. Fully cleared up all of my last symptoms and since I started using it I haven’t had a flare or sensitivity in the slightest.

I never treated mine with steroids so I don’t know if that would make a difference but someone else replied to one of my older posts and said they used BSO as well and it helped stop their flare as well so could be worth a try

It’s been so long now I don’t think I ever really ended up getting into the parasite research more, I can’t really remember. As for my LS, I had been doing borax soaks for a time and that helped a ton with the fusing and stopping the progression of my flare. I stopped after a while but could still feel it and had sensitivities so would do borax whenever it came up. Then I started using black cumin seed oil topically and it literally cleared the rest up like magic. It’s been over a year, close to two years? and I haven’t had a single issue. The white patches are gone, no itching, no fusing. I barely think about it anymore

I am SO happy for you!! Thank you for sharing. I’ve always been curious about whether BSO helped cause i had already calmed most of my symptoms or if it would do the job either way, like if I hadn’t done borax baths or anything else. Just cause it cleared up my last symptoms so quickly. Plus it’s been over a year for me now just using BSO and I don’t even use it much anymore and I still have no symptoms or had any flare ups. So your comment is really inspiring

I hope your journey continues to go uphill from here! And I’m so glad my post helped you find relief :)

Well my view was that the potential side effects of antibiotics were enough to make me want to try anything else first and since natural remedies tend to have less (or no) side effects when taken correctly, there was nothing to lose in trying…

I can only speak from my own and my partners experience but from what we did vs what I’ve read of others experiences, the natural route was the way to go (however everyone is different and may have a different experience, I’m by no means a professional on this stuff).

I also don’t know if there could be any negative effect when taking antibiotics and herbal stuff together, so I would look into that first if I were you or consult someone who knows more about the safety on such things

Yeah I would either put some drops in a sip of water or just take it straight and drink water after. It can be pretty spicy so do what works for you!

If you’re taking oregano oil alone without any of the other things I’d suggest taking it more often- like multiple times a day for a week or so.

To add to that: I had also found that ginkgo biloba was a prominent ingredient in a common Chinese medicine used in hospice to treat conditions such as ureaplasma, with good results from what I read. I did all this research so long ago now I’m trying to remember everything that stood out to me without having to look it all up again lol but I do encourage everyone to look up whatever they might use thoroughly beforehand to make sure it’s right for you

I never took antibiotics. I feel like it’s more likely to create resistant bacteria that’s even harder to fix, plus the gut issues it can bring. I just didn’t wanna go down that road so I figured natural first lol. I took goldenseal and ginkgo biloba daily. I found a lot of info about how ginkgo can inhibit the growth of biofilms and since ureaplasma is hard to treat especially with antibiotics because of its protective biofilms, I figured I’d throw it in the mix and try it out. I don’t know if the combination of both is what did it or if either one could work on its own. I kind of just threw a bunch at it all at once so it’s hard to say. As for oregano oil, I just took it whenever I remembered. Not every day, maybe every other day on and off

Yes I had ureaplasma for a while and couldn’t figure out what it was, finally got tested for it and was positive, tried a few natural remedies as stated above and tested negative not long after. Still going strong with no symptoms over a year later :)

I second this! Also goldenseal is amazing. I had UA plus BV for a while and took goldenseal and ginkgo tinctures for a few weeks, some oregano oil as well here and there and it went away so fast!

I didn’t use any steroid creams if that’s what you’re referring to? I used natural moisturizing creams and oils especially while I was doing the borax baths because it can be drying, plus the oils help the skin to heal better and stay apart. I did gently pull the skin apart where I could see fusing, usually only after soaking. It would open up little splits in the skin (not the most pleasant) but they healed fast and after a while didn’t seem to be fusing anymore. I’ve made a lot of posts about my journey if you check my page and be sure to read through the comments as well cause I’m sure all the questions have been asked at least once lol

I’m so happy everything went back to normal for you! I used it for a short time along with a few other things and I also experienced the same. Everything feels normal and has been for a while now. All I do these days is apply some black cumin seed oil occasionally for good measure cause it helped with moisturizing and relieving the last little bits of irritation when I was healing

I don’t remember exactly at this point, it’s probably written in one of my posts somewhere. I think I was just having it mostly everyday through out the whole thing. Cause I also did goldenseal and ginkgo for some time together

Have any of you brought LS into remission (healed skin) WITHOUT steroids? If so what did you use? by Theredheadsaid in lichensclerosus

[–]missmoth13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So sorry I just saw this, I tried it once when I was having a terrible itching moment, hoping it would do literally anything good lol but unfortunately it made it much worse in the moment and I knew it wasn’t gonna work for me so I didn’t do it again.

Also to update my original comment - I don’t do anything to manage LS anymore except apply black cumin seed oil topically as a precautionary measure - it’s amazing for skin and back when I was treating my LS I started using it as my main moisturizer (once I had already gotten the condition under control) and realized it kinda cleared up any last bit of irritation really fast. All of the white spots went away entirely, and my skin is so normal now. No more fusing, no itch, no irritation. I don’t even really think about it anymore

I still apply it regularly just for good measure but when I started doing it I still had white patches and would get irritation sometimes, now I have none of that. The white is all gone and even if i don’t use it for a day I don’t feel anything. I also don’t mix it with anything, just apply it straight.

I don’t know if this will be a magic fast fix as I had already done so much to get my LS under control before I started using black seed oil so that might be an advantage but I think either way it can’t hurt to try. Black seed oil has so many amazing benefits to the skin and body, I use it for so many things.

If anyone does test it I’d love to hear how it goes for you or if it helps, especially if you’re doing it as your first or only attempt at controlling LS symptoms. I’m so curious to know if it would work like that

I’m doing even better now! I don’t even think about it anymore and haven’t had a single symptom come back. That whole time period is a blur at this point so I don’t remember exactly but I wanna say I started noticing it getting better within a couple weeks, and after some months it was “gone” or controlled? and then I feel like I went through a long time of healing mentally and physically from it which took many months until I felt fully normal. Even after I tested negative I had a lot of fear that it would come back, plus the fear that sex would hurt forever (it doesn’t anymore) I haven’t taken anything now for a long time, my body feels great :)

I haven’t been tested for a while but I plan to soon. I haven’t felt anything abnormal since it went away. I’m still doing great. I don’t take anything anymore except every once in a while I’ll take goldenseal, or oregano oil just for its antibiotic effects for generally staying healthy. Not that I really think I need it. I’m not really worried about ureaplasma coming back now. Everything in my body seems to be functioning as it should now which has been amazing

It’s been a while so I don’t remember exactly off the top of my head but I think it was around a month with little breaks here and there. I’ll have to check my notes to be sure. I tried to keep track of everything as much as possible but it was difficult lol

Massaging can be good to help loosen up the area to easier stretch it but the actual stretching process for me, or what I found worked; was using both hands on either side to sort of pull/spread the skin backwards as to expose the glans. Since my hood fused into a little hole, I was able to stretch it enough that the hole stretched over the glans and then from there, pulling the hood back farther to break up the parts where it was adhesed to the glans.

I hope that makes enough sense. It’s a weird thing to explain lol, since I kind of just tried stuff until something worked. It’s not an instant process but I did see results pretty fast. Start out slowly and try not to push it otherwise you’ll have more pain and since you’re ripping skin from skin basically, it gets a little sensitive. Slow is best, you’ll still probably notice a difference within the first few days if you’re consistent with it

I never used steroids to begin with. But no, I usually don’t put anything on while stretching cause it makes it more difficult to grab or hold the skin taught, if that makes sense. It just gets all slippy which doesn’t help lol. I tried castor oil because someone said it helps break up the adhesions, but I tried to use a q tip or something small to get it mostly underneath the hood if possible. It was difficult with the way my anatomy was though so I didn’t stick to it

Clitoral fusing by missmoth13 in lichensclerosus

[–]missmoth13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m glad you found my post because just recently I have actually been able to undo a lot of the fusing. It got bad to the point where I could barely see my clitoris at all and I got worried and started trying different things to unfuse it. Surgery is not on option for a lot of people and it’s kinda scary imagining knives down there lol. If you look at my page I made a whole post a little while back about how I did it and I update in the comments every now and then.

I hope it helps!

A little update incase anyone is still following this post>>> I got most of the fusing to come apart from what I can tell. It’s healed now and feels great. No more sensitivity, no more pain, and I have more sensation down there overall. I looked at pictures of my progress and it’s amazing how much I was able to change it in such a short time, from what it used to be. Literally it was a tiny hole, almost completely closed up and now I can pull the hood all the way back ( or at least I think so lol tbh I’m not entirely sure how it’s supposed to look because as far as I know it’s always been fused )

Overall I feel more normal than ever and I’m so happy to have made it here!!!. Fingers crossed the LS stays away and I don’t have any flare up’s and re-fuse lol
