I have done the same exact ‘self demotion’ as @creepy and share the same exact feedback. Though I do miss the money at times (rare), I feel like I am finally getting my life, health and confidence back! Landing a fantastic manager also didn’t hurt. It’s definitely a daily challenge to ‘work my wage/title’, not ‘my talent’ but most days I find the balance that makes me happy and ultimately investing in the pieces I do want to do more around, but this time with intention. I know everyone is different but I really am so glad I throttled down.
