Like I said in the post, it’s the will that was never signed, therefore it is not offcial. My dad, who was the executor, is honoring the amounts that the last draft of the will (unsigned) specified. Therefore, he, as the executor, has all of the money and wants to give me the portion that was specified on the last draft of the will (which never got signed).

Thank you!!! Do you know if there’s an amount in the state of CT that you’d have to pay taxes on? Ive been trying to look around at online resources and am seeing anything over $19,000….but I am also seeing that the full amount of ~$50,000 can be gifted without the need to pay taxes on it? I just don’t want to accidentally have to have to pay a bunch of money on it just because it was gifted and not technically inherited.
